Good car but the tires are trash

It's been fine for the couple years we've had it. Extremely disappointed that after 10K miles I needed new tires. That's alot of money to have to shell out after a few miles and after spending so much on the car. I find it very shady that Hyundai decides to save money on junk tires mainly, in my estimation, it is because they know they won't have to warranty them. Otherwise, the car has been good.

Great car for price point

This Midsize car is great looking and fun to drive. Priced for the average person to afford. Rides nice good handling on all road conditions. Gas mpg is good but could be better . Storage and rear seat leg room is great.

Love this car!!

I’ve had this car for 2 yrs now and my car has over 44,000 miles. I haven’t had the first issue with this Sonata!! While the seats could be a little bit softer, we have ridden across the country in it and enjoyed the ride. The choices of ways to play music kept us entertained the entire trip with great sound quality. There is also plenty of room in the trunk for everything you would need in a cross country trip. The interior is roomy enough that my 6’ tall husband had plenty of room in the front and the back seats, which is spectacular for a mid sized sedan. The safety rating for this vehicle is also spectacular which was extremely important to me. We averaged almost 40 mpg on the trip, which was quite satisfying considering the different terrains such as mountains and valleys along our trip. You won’t go wrong buying this vehicle!!

Unreliable and unsafe lemon

The seats are miserably uncomfortable. I took the car on a 15 hr trip to Florida and my back hurt for days. The engine has been knocking during acceleration since I bought the car in May of 2017. Of course, the service department can't repeat it. In January 2019, the service department installed a software update to detect excessive engine noise and engine knocking during acceleration as stated by the Hyundai. Four days later the engine went into protected mode as designed. Hyundai decided that replacing the wiring harness would fix the engine vibration and knocking. Six weeks later I got the car back and the engine is still knocking. The steering wheel sticks causing oversteering when it breaks free. Of course, the service department can't repeat the issue. The engine accelerates on it's own when attempting to stop. You guessed it, the service department can't repeat the issue. My wife is afraid to drive the car because it is a safety hazard and unreliable. Also, don't lean on the back of the car because you will break the plastic.

This is my second Sonata!!! I love it. Great on handling and gas mileage! I would tell everyone to get one they will not be disappointed. Need to see Debra she is awesome sales person.. The service department is outstanding also.

Great car so far

Great car so far - has been serving us well. Handles well and drives good. The trunk is very roomy. My husband and I like the silver color that we decided on. Its also very good to have the dealership close buy.

Discouraged

Overall I cannot complain. The car has 80k miles and all I have had to do is oil changes and basic warranty recommended maintenance. But the fit and finish of the exterior and interior leaves me a little discouraged. The attention to detail and quality that would help the cosmetics and functionality of the interior is simply not there. The passenger mirror sometimes doesn’t work. The finish surrounding the cup holders is bubbling. The plastic seat frame that holds the seat adjusters has broken. Sometimes when I turn on the defrost it will take a full minute for the air to stop blowing out of the front vents and start blowing out the defroster vent. The front bumper is discolored and is now a slightly darker color white than the rest of the car; barely noticeable, but when you pay this much for a car, items like this are noticeable. I was hoping this car would last 200k plus miles, but am beginning to worry it may not.

I have liked the Sonatas ever since the first one I owned. I have purchased 3 Sonatas and 1 Tucson which I also like. It is a good value for the money and they look nice, especially the first one which looked very sleek.

Love this car

This is my second Sonata (2013 and 2017) and can’t wait for my next one in 2020. I have had many cars in my 55 years of auto ownership and both of these cars have been a pleasure to drive and own. Love driving these cars.

one of the most dependable cars I've owned. would buy an other one when this one is paid for most of the replacement parts was a wind shield wiper blade. I like the power and gas mileage. hard to realize it has only four cylinders

Comfy sedan

I wanted a larger sedan I felt safe in , that's what I got. It drives good, but I lovingly call him Bruce- my old man. I have the Sonata Sport, with a package added so I got leather seats, a sunroof, and seat warmers. Love it

Love my car

I would only change one thing, the seat color. It picks up everything. This is my second Sonata and I loved the first one too but it had the same problem with the seats, Everything I wear transfers to them.

Overall very good vehicle features and all around performance sedan. Visibility is good has plenty of snap from start. Highway mileage is excellent 35+ In town driving normally runs 22+ Range on trips is over 500 miles

I have enjoyed my leased 2017 Sonata. It is spacious and handles well in all weather. The sunroof is large and provides great sunlight. The look of the vehicle is sharp and distinguishable. I would highly recommend this vehicle and McGovern Hyndai dealership in Brockton.

I couldn't ask for a smoother ride. I really wanted an Elantra but when I test drove the sonata I sa Zid this is it. The room that's inside is very comfortable. I would recommend this model to anyone

I love my Sonata

Leasing a Hyundai Sonata was a total change for me and I have never been sorry. The Sonata drives well, is comfortable, has never given me any problems and the gas mileage is terrific both in town and on the open road. The interior is spacious and truly surprises anyone riding in the rear seats, the dash controls are easy to read and use. And, I can't forget to mention it is a beautiful vehicle! I LOVE MY SONATA!

2017 sonata

I like the way car handles. I don't like that I had to replace hydraulic brakes so soon. Still under warranty, that was the great part! Wish the seats were more cushiony. Love the blind spot detectors.
