Sonata 4 cylinders

This is my 3rd Sonata. 2 were v-6 and were great cars. The 4 cylinder cars have, all models, have an irritating hesitation when starting from a dead stop. If you are trying to pull out into traffic you have to be aware that the car will hesitate before it will pick up and move on. You definitely need to allow for fast traffic or you will be in an accident. I am told this is all electronic and I can't believe this has nt been addressed.Other than this fault the car is a great car. Incidentally this is true for several brands that Iave rented and the ones with the CVT transmissions are worse.

A good value sedan

Have owned the car for nearly two years now and already clocked 37000 miles on the odo. My review is exclusively aimed at the Limited 2.0T trim. Performance-The car is really good performance wise and feels a lot different from the typical base engine sonata that folks would be used to while renting from enterprise. The 245 HP 2.0T makes highway merging and passing a breeze and the fun factor associated with the turbo kick in is immense. Suffers from the typical turbo lags at lower RPM's and at cold starts but overall a pleasure to drive. Transmission is smooth and while the cornering could be a lot better, folks would overall enjoy the vehicle. Exterior/Interior: Having purchased the highest trim always means you get some attractive chrome fittings here and there. The exterior while not on the sportier side would definitely impress the average car owner. Mine being a black all the more makes it look supreme with the visibly contrasting chrome handles. Interiors wise I feel the layout is ergonomically designed. The car is extremely spacious both at the front and the rear seats so big and tall people would find the seating a pleasure. Only disappointment is the cheap looking plastic inlays fitted to mimic carbon fiber inlays-Why try so hard? Just stick with wood/Regular plastics. It looks so wannabe and unwanted. Apart from that other standout features(In my trim) are the LED interior lights which create an aura of sophistication as well as the seats which are super comfy. The panoramic sunroof is by far the best feature I thoroughly cherish (Only one in this segment). The steering feels light on normal driving mode and kind of tight on sport and the steering wheel design is also worth noting. Tech- Again loaded with all the possible tech features being the limited trim, you soon realize most of it is only to make you feel sophisticated but have very little use for. I have been having one hell of a nightmare with my blind spot detection system which fails under weird circumstances(When parked in heat for long) and still trying to get the service department to properly diagnose and recreate the issue. The dynamic bending light is a useful feature if driving in dim lit roads regularly at night. Other than that, the touchscreen navigation system is spot on and easy to use barring a few occasional glitches. The infinity premium sound system while in no way compares to Bose/Harman Kardon is still way better than the stock sound system. Value: At the attractive bargain that I got this car(2700 USD OTD against 35000 MSRP), it was a steal. It is a really sophisticated car with everything you want(Want vs need) and will never make you feel bored. However at a 30000+ price point I am not exactly sure how many people would want to buy this because there is a breaking point for how much people would spend on this segment(Non luxury Midsize sedan) and I think 30000 USD is the cap that ordinary folks would be willing to spend. But if you have some extra cash to throw please look at this car. It by far would feel a lot better than every other car in this segment at that trim level.

Great car except for

Great car except the Blue Link doesn't work and you have to go to the dealership to update your head unit. Getting help from customer service is hit or miss and the engineer's will send you a trouble tree and the main fix is reset your head unit.

I am proud to be the owner of this fine vehicle. It is attractive inside and outside and drives beautifully. I feel safe in it, something that is important to me. I have enjoyed Camrys in the past but decided to try a Hyundai this time. I am so glad that I made that decision. It is surpassing my expectations.

I love my Sonata.

This is my second Sonata. What I really want is key fob initiated remote start without going through an app and paying for it. This is standard on most other brands of cars. Michigan winters are getting worse! Get on it, Hyundai!!!?

Excellent vehicle to drive!!

It was very roomy and easy on gas. The ride was very smooth and easy to drive. It held to ghd road very well. It even drove over wet ice with no problems. I was very impressed. Feel like I could take it anywhere and feel safe no matter the weather conditions

2017 Sonata

Love my Sonata, soprt. It gets good gas mileage about 23 city and up to 38 on the highway. The interior is comfortable and roomy. I love the fob, not having to use a key is amazing. Locking and unlocking the door with the button and having the trunk open when I walk up to it with groceries is great.

Good vehicle

This vehicle is very spacious and drives very well. The only problem with this car is that when I got this car 2 years ago, the paint started to chip from the top. To what I was told is that I don’t have warranty to fix the paint issue. I am not satisfied with this because the car is only two years old. My friend also has a Hyundai and her car paint also started chipping

Excellent performance and a great travel experience

The car is comfortable to ride in and a pleasure to drive. The engine is peppy and yet gets great gas mileage. The styling is eye catching, the finishes are better than the more expensive cars and the handling in Albuquerque traffic is sure, safe and quick.

Nice car good ride

I was used to a SUV took a while but I do like the sonatas easy to handle nice smooth ride and very classy looking.nice interior quiet inside when driving like the sirus radio. Good heat and air conditioning.

Comfortable car

This car is roomy and has adequate power when driving on freeway. But, there were a couple issues with TPMS and trunk, which were both fixed under warranty. The only complaint I have is either the engine or road noise is a little noticeable in cabin, but I have driven cars that sound much noisier.

Great car.

This is a great car to own and drive. Very powerful and yet get great gas mileage. Very comfortable and roomy. Great on long trips. Full of safety features. The car practically drives it self. It's great in heavy and or congested traffic.

Happy with my selection

Sonata has been a reliable and good performing car. Although a little sluggish at lower speeds, the car is comfortable and stylish, Roominess is also a plus and the trunk has plenty of space to accommodate plenty of cargo.

Enjoying the vehicle.

Nice ride, fun drive. Never owned a Hyundai before always owned GM products. Vehicle is quite roomy and comfortable with five people.Like having the large trunk space.Really like the backup camera, very helpful.

2017 Hyundai Sonata Sport

This is third Hyundai I have owned. Loved each one. Only complaints about this one is that the heater does not work as well as in the others and it has no rear wiper and the headrests on front seats should be reversible because on short people they bend the head down.

A work horse!

This is my third Hyundai Sonata, preceded by a 2002 and a 2007. I am a huge fan but do not talk about my car enough. When people ask my only response is usually, "Oh, I never think about my car...I guess that means it is great!" Other than tires, regular service and brakes occasionally, I don't have to do anything to these cars. I have gotten rid of my others at 200,000 miles, more out of boredom than any good reason. I imagine if you continue servicing these cars they will go on indefinitely. If you are more interested about getting where you need to go than anything else, go with a Hyundai. Economical to own and easy on the eyes. This is a car you can easily own for 10 years with no worries.

Excellent quality, warranty and road service.

This is the third Hyundai Sonota that I have driven during the last eleven years. The first was a 2008 Sonota with 92,000 miles, followed by a 2015 Sonota with 36,000, and now a 2017 Sonota, which presently has 22,000 miles. All three Sonota's have performed above average in the categories of performance, highway millage, quality, and dependability. Dealer servicing and roadside has also been excellent.
