Great looking but terrible transmission!

I would never buy this car again! Have had many Hyundai's prior to this car and they were all terrific! Have had many things go wrong with this car. Definitely the worst Hyundai I have ever owned! Will be looking at new SUV's in August!

2016 Tucson

At 60,000 miles and keeping my service up to date, I highly recommend this vehicle. You can't avoid all the road hazards that are out there but it is nice to know, your vehicle is ready for your everyday driving experience.

I really like the safety features

In the last few weeks little things have been going wrong , and the hands off phone will sometimes not take my command. The Tuscan is a very stylish car and comfortable to drive on trips. The only thing, when someone is riding with you there is no place to put your purse near you.

Live the dream drive the dream

Very good looking crossover car. Love the mileage I get. It does prefer to go faster than the mostly posted 25 mph around my town. Very comfortable, smooth ride. Very roomy inside. Fast acceleration, corners safely.

Tucson's away!

The Tucson was purchased and serviced at this Gladstone dealership since it was new! The service department has never let me down and the sales staff is not pushy making a person feel very comfortable while you are in the dealership! The sales staff is into cars which makes car people comfortable as they share the customers enthusiasm about cars! The Tucson is a good car and quite a work horse as it tows a trailer very well without any complaints! In the future I will buy another!

We love our Hyundai Tucson sport. It’s a great vehicle. Smiooth ride and very comfortable. It’s also a great looking suv. We just love our Tucson. It is a great looking and great comfort vehicle. Meh

Rides comfortably. Is pretty and easy to maintain. Very practical for my family. I’ve had chronic issues with the electrical. Doors won’t unlock, windows won’t roll down, connectivity issue with the left blinker, etc. I could have just gotten a bad egg. I feel like I’m constantly getting these things fixed.

Concerns After Owning for 2 Years

Recent engine issue needing engine replacement has left me feeling less confident in my car’s reliability and safety. I purchased this car used but with only 7,000 miles on it and I’ve serviced it regularly at the dealership. CARFAX report didn’t identify any previous issues. I didn’t expect to have these issues with only 20,000 miles on the car.

I love my Tucson

This is not my first Hyundai. It is my 1st Tucson and I love it. I am older now and need a vehicle that is easy to get into and out . The Tucson is just right for me. I have taken it on an extended road trip of 6000 miles and it was very comfortable.

Sporty SUV

First of all I'm new in the SUV segment. As I compared the Santa Fe , Tucson and the Kona, the Tucson was the right fit. It will give me some room to carry cargo etc as the needs arise as a homeowner. The design is great , it is peppy for a 4 cylinder with turbo. When getting the Limited Trim you get a lot of nice features and extra Safety elements as well which is important to me. I wanted the SUV to shadow my 2015 Genesis to some extent, which it has. After driving the HYUNDAI BRAND exclusively since 1997 it's been a WIN WIN all the way around. Depending on your needs the Tucson is a great Mid Sized SUV to own & Drive.

Could have rated this car if only.............

The vehicle has very cheap interior material and scratches very easily. No response from Hyundai on my complaint of transmission problems. There are times I am afraid of driving because I am unsure if the transmission will hold up. Discussed this issue with my service advisor and Hyundai only to be told there is no problem. Google the web and hundreds of people have the same issue.

still random issues with clutch plates. So random I hesitate calling for service appt. Hesitation pulling out ftom stops. Jerking motion when in stop & go traffic. Definetly don’t use the eco mode. Hesitation seems worse in this mode.

The turbo

The turbo is very lagging when you get going after a stop. It is a dissapointment. This needs to be improved so you can actually consider it being a turbo. I do like the interior and the feature it comes with in the Limited.

We have enjoyed this SUV. It is comfortable, stylish and dependable. We haven't had any mechanical issues so far. This SUV is very roomy. We will probably purchase another Tucson when the time comes.

Lousy transmisssion

The Tucson is a beautiful automobile with classic body styling and a nicely appointed interior. I like everything about it except the transmission. Sometimes on a downhill in idle it refuses to upshift so you get to listen to the whine of 3,500 rpm. When stopped on a steep uphill it has been known to refuse to go like a stubborn mule. And a few times, when pulling out into busy traffic, it has hesitated, which really gets one's attention. Overall it's a beautiful machine but I would not buy another nor recommend it to my friends.

Hyundai Tucson

I absolutely love this truck.. From the design, color, and over ride in this vehicle. It's the perfect small SUV but still has the pickup with the different driving modes. I love the split seats in the back with the cup holder in the middle. I also love the design of the front with the grill and sleek lights. I do admit I wished I could have got the fog lights. Even looked into getting them.. A bit pricey...and maybe black rims because my truck is black. The gas goes a long way driving in the eco mode. It also handles well on the highway especially with me saving on gas. Also love the Bluetooth.. And I wish they would have added the wireless charge to the 2016 model. Thanks Hyundai for a great truck.. And you have a customer for LIFE.. ?

Smooth ride, but I’ve had some issues

I like the size of the car. Exactly what I wanted. The car itsel well it’s ok. I’ve had some issues while driving where car looses speed. It’s quite strange took it in for check up and they can’t figure out why it does that. My front passenger car door lock went out had to get it replaced and so did the back left door a month later. So I’m watching my cat for and other issues it might have. I’ve had my car for almost 3 years
