Not the best model year
After looking at a number of other reviews, it seems 2016 was a bad year for the Tucson. In my case oil consumption was high due to a problem with the turbo (which finally resulted in replacing the engine entirely; new one is too new to comment on). Problems with the ignition being easily defeated are well known, and the power windows have a reputation for failing due to one specific cheap part. There's a service bulletin for problems with door latches, which I'll need to address as soon as I have the time.
Previously I had another Tucson (which got smashed into in a parking lot, so not a lot of time to shop around for a replacement) and it was mechanically sound. In both cases, the comfort is well above average for the size and type of vehicle. The front seats are comfortable for those of us who are a little wider than average, and I can position the driver's seat comfortably front and back (I have short legs and long arms for my height).
Back seat passengers do have trouble with legroom, which is normal for this size vehicle -- nobody seems to build cars for carrying four adults. The seat belt receptacles in the back also have a tendency to disappear below the level of the seat, and it can take some effort to dig them out.
In terms of performance, gas mileage is good and the turning radius is outstanding. Acceleration can sometime be sluggish from a stop, but I think that's just because there are so many gear changes in that speed range.
By and large, though, I'm very happy with the car and will look for another Tucson to replace it when the time comes.
