2nd Gen GS300 the G.O.A.T!!!
I first laid eyes on the Lexus GS300 in 1998 when the second generation was released. I wanted one instantly but it was way more expensive than my lifestyle allowed at the time. As fate would have it, in 2003 I found and purchased a 1998 model with only 30K miles on the odometer. It is now 2020 and I still have the car. It has been simply amazing. The car has never let me down and I won't hesitate to drive it anywhere, RIGHT NOW. We have over 300k miles now and are still going strong. No ticking, knocking, smoking, etc,. Same motor. Same transmission. No major repairs, just regular maintenance. Of course it's not a new car anymore but a close friend has a much newer LS that I drive every now and then, and guess what? My GS is still very comparable in ride quality and feel. It's close enough that I refuse to upgrade or let it go. Plus, I get better mpg. I have other cars, and have had other cars, but I can say hands down, that my 1998 GS 300 is the best car that I have had the pleasure of owning and Lexus OWES ME NOTHING!!!!
