To say the Mazda CX-5 is reliable is an understatement. Routine maintenance is the only thing our CX-5 has needed in the 5 years and 75,000 miles we have driven it. It is comfortable on long rides and is just the right size for parties of 4. Not too big. Not too small. Just right. It gets great gas mileage (around 30 mpg combined). The only three minor complaints I have are: 1) The turning radius is comparable to an 18-wheeler, 2) It will not win any races against motor operated vehicles and 3) We specifically selected the metallic burgundy color, which is beautiful, but is probably the least resistant to rock chips paint I have ever seen. We got our first one on our 30-mile drive home from purchasing the care new at the dealer. The clear coat is soft and the paint is not very durable. Also, the chrome trim is showing wear... unlike the Audi, Cadillac, Ford, Lexus, and Toyota vehicles I've owned.
