Surprisingly reliable at high mileage
I have driven a lot of luxury vehicles into old age. The 2006 Mercedes c-230 has been only a pleasure. Sure, there have been some little things, but the c-230 has surprised me with its reliability even at 135K miles. Most notably, the V6 is strong & responsive as ever and sounds quiet and smooth as a sewing machine despite its miles. Also, I have been impressed by how the interior has held up. The leather still looks great with no tears or excessive wear despite normal use and outdoor parking. Front seat foam still full and firm. Dash is in great shape w/ no cracks and the rubber trim is still strong around the doors and sunroof -- no freeway air noise or leaks even in the car wash tunnel. The speakers sound full and wonderful as if they are new - no rattling, and all the gadgets work. The A/C is also still strong and cold, although it is hissing a little which is a bit annoying, but not that big of a deal. The only current issue is the rear fog light on the passenger side doesn't activate. But this is a $50 fix that I just haven't done yet. Repairs I've had to do: new thermostat, intake manifold servicing (stuck valve -- that was the biggest thing at $600), new wiper fluid motor. This car was built with quality in mind and it lives up to the Mercedes name.
