2006 Mercedes Benz SL500
Purchased this vehicle with 22K miles off lease as a Mercedes Benz Certified Vehicle. It is a great performance machine which turns heads whenever it is on the road. Even with scheduled maintenance, there comes a time when the "luster" wears off! In early performance, the engine idle sensor failed at 37K miles, and was covered under warranty. At 82K miles, the transmission failed and was covered under warranty The Automatic Body Control(ABC) system can be extremely costly. The following components were replaced at the 110K mileage mark or above:
1) Tandem Pump
2) Both front struts
3) High pressure hoses
4) Front and rear blocks
5) Fluid and filters (2X)
These items racked up an estimated $8K in charges during a one year period of performance.
