Never anything different from hybrid

As a hybrid this car goes silently and very fuel saving. The low vibration increases the lifetime and the regenerative braking reduces wear and tear of the brakes. The mode of operation is depicted. The car computer makes the choice whether the car goes electric or on fuel. The only drawback is that this choice too often can not be overwritten by the driver.

152,000 miles and going strong

Just got new brakes and had to replace the conventional battery years ago but the hybrid battery is still holding a charge very well. It's been a great, reliable car with little maintenance required beyond oil changes.

I love my 2010 Toyotaq Prius!!!!!!!!

It is so dependable --I think the reason the battery died is because several times i was careless...I left my lights on, twice. Left my door ajar, onceThe rundown was my fault! My gas mileage is good, too! esp. since i am using high quality gas.

I Am Forever Changed On The Prius!

Well to start it all off, I was one if those guys that always gave prius crap and used to play slug a bug for priuses. But when I test drove one and purchased one, I instantly fell in love. The amount of power it has and the get up and go is astonishing. Use power mode and that prius gets up and goes. Then running it in eco mode allowed us to get up to 65 mpg! I am trully happy with this prius! Thank you Parker Toyota! You guys rock!

2010 Toyota Prius

When I wife wanted this car I was not convinced but since she wanted it and she would be the driver of it I agreed. I have driven Audis for many years and although I still drive an Audi and enjoy it I have to say the Prius is the most reliable and economical vehicle I have ever owned.

Awesome car even in the snow!

When I bought my Toyota Prius most people said that these cars only do well in warm climates where there isn’t any snow. Well, I can tell you that “They” are wrong! My Prius handles well in all kinds of weather and I save a lot of money on gas. It’s surprisingly roomy and has taken my family of 4 on many road trips. Plus, I still feel cool when I’m driving in the city even though I’m driving my family car :) also, it fits into tight parking spots and has a great turning radius for those quick u-turns! I just can’t say enough about this great car everyone should own one!

Love my Prius

Love the style and simplicity of the car. Good gas mileage. My favorite is the hatch back because the seats fold down flat which makws it easy to transport larger items. Love the keyless entry and push button start too.

Prius 2010

I have neglected expensive maintenance and my car still performs wonderfully. I keep up with oil change, tires and rotation etc. But it's been 5 years for tune up. The interior could be better but for the money, it's ok

Only car I'll ever own...

My 2010 Prius is my second Prius- the First being a 2008, which I also bought new. I liked the 'merely tap the brake' to disable cruise control on the 2008, whereas the 2010 needs a definite press on the brake pedal to do that. My 2010's lift-gate comes up & down more easily than the 2008. I like the hill-holding feature on the 2010, which holds the brake on for a second after you take your foot off the brake- long enough to get to the gas pedal. The extra power of my 2010 engine & motors is noticeable but it gets better mileage than my 2008. The headroom on my 2010 is better than in my 2008 and whereas I needed to put the seat all the way back in my 2008, it is one click forward of the most rear position in my 2010. Upkeep is not cheap but a car that only needs spark plugs every 100,000 miles? Really...10,000 miles between full synthetic oil changes? and it goes on and on.

One Good Car

The Prius is now the car I buy. It is very cost effective, comfortable and safe. I recommend a good all season tyre and full options. Rear visibility is a challenge without a camera but sight lines are good. It is also very quiet.

2010 toyota prius

we've owned the car since 2011 and had no major mechanical repairs until recently, with 112,000 miles on the odometer i noticed it was low on oil between changes while checking other fluids under the hood. It had been down 3 quarts and yet still stayed running. We added enough oil in order to get by for a few more days, and after a Professional evaluation found we needed a new engine as ours had a blown head gasket and was leaking, and the repairs for this motor would be almost as much as a newer lower mileage motor. So we opted for a newer, lower mileage engine to be swapped out. I have seen plenty of these model years and older with over 200k miles on them and they seem to be almost indestructible, i guess we just had a little bad luck with ours? We are putting another engine in and expect to get at least another 112,000 miles and more out of it, and hopefully be our daughters first car when she turns 16.

Love My Solar Roof!

My 2010 Prius is the best car I have ever owned. It doesn’t do EVERYTHING, but no car does. I don’t expect my Tundra to get great gas mileage nor expect my Prius to haul hay. What it does do is carry up to five passengers or kids and dogs comfortably to the beach or mountains at fifty miles per gallon. I can configure the fold down seats to haul art supplies, bookshelves, you name it—all economically. It has never been recalled. It’s utterly reliable. No guilt if stuck in traffic because it isn’t burning gas.

Get on gas.

This car is comfortable with lots of extras. Mine has a sunroof, solar panel, extra interior upgrade with the console. Great on gas, and fun to drive. This company makes great hybrids and the car has plenty of space.

Love our Prius!

Our Prius is very economical & reliable. Not the sportiest car but it is roomy and comfortable and has plenty of room in the back hatch. I also think the exterior design is as good looking now as when I picked it up 7 years ago.

Wasn't sure about the Prius.

Disclaimer: I cannot afford new vehicles so when I need a vehicle I fly to Arizona, buy a used Toyota and drive it back to Minnesota. 'Makes for a nice vacation too. And, I'll say this up-front so dealerships and everybody else can read it firsthand without wading through the rest of this review: there is NO reason for the cost of the combination of an extra key, fob and programming to be so stupid expensive. Near as I can tell, dealers charge north of $300 for additional means to lock, unlock and start a Prius. This is plain stupid. I came to the Prius from a Toyota Matrix that had been totaled in a wreck. I had hoped to buy another Matrix but, because Toyota discontinued the model in 2013 or so, I had a difficult time finding one with low enough miles. So, after a great deal of research and indecision, I decided to test a few Prius models. I had hoped to find a Prius C since it is most like the Matrix but there weren't many of those available on the used market. So, I ended up buying a regular 2009 with 151k. My first impression of the 2009 Prius was, "This is weird." Not used to push button start; inserting a key-fob and a two-position, dash-mounted 'joy stick'. That, and I had to get used to the motor shutting off at stop lights & signs! So, it was a major departure from what I was used to but the car didn't lack for anything. Acceleration was fine in traffic, road noise wasn't all that bad, everything in the vehicle worked just fine. The clear coat was peeling when I bought it and got progressively worse; not sure if it was a poor paint job or if it was just a common result of too much Arizona heat and sun. In time, I sold the 2009 and bought a 2010 that had a restored title with fewer miles in a lot better shape (repainted too). The 2010 Prius is a re-design of previous body styles & models. They don't resemble prior models even though the technology is largely the same. There is more space in the 2010 model; it rides better; the displays are much more technical with a monochrome green - not sure if there are better options or not. MPG is about the same but with a larger motor: the 09 had a 1.5 L, the 10 has a 1.8 L. Quite a bit more snort with the 2010. My advice for anyone considering the purchase of a Toyota Prius: go for it! Just be aware that, in your research, you'll run into a lot of negative comments and reports about these cars. Weigh those against the positive and you'll find a car that people are largely happy with. Especially, do NOT believe the negative winter reports about these cars: I believe they're written by folks trying to get through winter with all-season radials or summer tires. Further, the only downsides I can see in a Toyota Prius during winter are; 1) low ground clearance (common to all compact cars) and 2); how the additional warm-up robs MPG, (you'll 'only' get 35 to 40 mpg in a northern Minnesota winter where temps get south of -40 Fahrenheit and wind chills go to 50 below - best not to be out in that anyway.) Take the usual winter precautions with a Prius that you'd take with any other vehicle, (dedicated snow tires all around and a $36 block heater) and you'll be fine. It acts just like any other car once the driver gets used to the technology. I've found this car to be relatively cheap to own and drive. I'm very happy with any affordable technology that decreases my cost per mile. A personal note: I never spend more than $7000 on a vehicle.

Complete Satisfaction

The 2010 model changes checked all my boxes. More space, better pickup, same great mileage, improved creature comforts (even little details, like an “open all the way” power window setting), same great build quality. They were reading my mind when they made this car.

Great car, wouldn't go back

My uncle told me that once I switched to a Prius, I'd never go back to a less fuel-efficient car. He was right! 44-47 miles to a gallon is my actual range with normal driving, and the car is very pleasant to drive or to ride in.
