Ladies, if you’re looking for an honest, trustworthy, and reliable auto repair shop, look no further than AMA AUTOCARE - Oakland. As someone who has often feared being taken advantage of by car repair shops, I can confidently say that this place is a gem.
I recently had work done at AMA AUTOCARE - Oakland, and the experience was exceptional. They initially quoted me one price, but the final bill was actually much less. When I called to confirm, thinking it was a mistake, they explained that the job was less difficult than anticipated and adjusted the price accordingly. They didn’t have to disclose this, but they did, showing their commitment to honesty and integrity.
I am immensely grateful for the service they provided, and I highly recommend AMA AUTOCARE - Oakland to anyone seeking reliable car repair. Trust them with your vehicle; you won’t be disappointed!

Screwed up, not willing to make effort to make it right
AMA did an oil change for me, along with another $500+ in other work. Now it leaks oil. I took it in to get them to look at it while I waited. They wouldn't. Even though they clearly had very little goin in an hour before their closing time. Now I'm supposed to take more time off work next week and leave the car. I HATE mechanics.

Helpful staff gets you what you need
Waylon was super helpful to me. He advised me to wait a bit longer on my brakes (another shop had told me to come back to them in 5000 miles). He also told me how to get rid of oil stains on my driveway that happened after an oil change at that other shop. I will be back at AMA when it is time for new brakes and look forward to seeing Waylon again, a knowledgeable and up-front young man that is a pleasure to be around.

Quality of work
I really trust the folks here. They are not the cheapest but they seem fair. I would rather pay a little extra and get it right. They have also worked with me in terms of payment. And they’re nice.

I’ve been bringing my car here for over 7 years. I always trust their advice. They try to find the most economical way to keep my old car safely and well. They don’t do unnecessary work (they already have enough business!). Highly recommend.
