This is the car that never quits

I bought this Matrix used in 2013 and it hasn't failed me yet. It just keeps going and going with a few wear and tear things to be fixed along the way! I just asked my mechanic if it was time for a new car and he said no, these Toyotas go forever! I love the functionality of the car and how the seats fold down, including the front passenger seat. I am a part time SCUBA instructor and this car is great about hauling gear to and from dive sites!

BEST VEHICLE I'VE EVER OWNED!

The Toyota Matrix was introduced in 2003 through an animae TV commercial. Toyota aimed this lower priced CUV at the US youth market. Except something happened. It didn't appeal to teenagers and young adults. It appealed to old farts like me! A couple of years later, Toyota introduced the rolling boom box with the strobing colored dashboard that was the Scion. That's the one that had more appeal to the youth market! Fast forward to 2024. I'm still driving the Matrix. It's got a quarter million miles on it, and still has the original timing belt! The car has never broken down and stranded me on the side of the road. I previously owned a Nissan, and a Honda Civic. Neither car lasted longer than 125,000 miles. The only real expense with the Matrix, outside of routine expenses? Like most older Toyotas, it occasionally jettisons it's wheel covers like frisbees flying across the landscape. I usually have at least one box of replacement wheel covers stored in the garage at any given time. I don't mind, it's the one bit of fun the car has!

A gem, first of its kind. Why did they stop making it?

This was the first generation of a compact/ crossover car, much imitated by other auto makers. Interior design totally flexible, with advanced features; and styled with forward design. So much better than anything comparable on the market today.

Best car EVER!

The above is a picture of the car I have. Believe me, it is the best car ever. It is 18, yes 18 yrs. old and besides routine maintenance, tires & brakes I never had a problem and the paint still looks like new. No one can believe it is that old. It just keeps on ticking. Toyota’s are the best if you want to keep your car for a long time. 250,000 mi. Is nothing for this car.

Old Reliable

Even though my matrix does not like anything like this picture (no cable ties or duct tape), it’s a reliable means of transportation. It has close to 300,000 miles. Keep up on your car’s maintenance and change fluids regularly and your car ? should last you a long time.

Excellent car

Now almost 14 years old, I still love it. My third Toyota that I've bought new and driven for 13+ years, I am a true fan! The matrix looks small but can hold a lot! A great car.

2003 Toyota Matrix XR

I love my Matrix, just wish it had some pick up and go. I DO NOT like that the insurance companies have it labled ad a sports car, higher insurance rate ?

I love my '03 toyota matrix. For the first time in 12 yrs. I had a major repair, my starter went out. Up till then it never failed me, turning over with every turn of the key for 12rs. I have 122K miles on my Matrix and I expect to get more then 200k miles or more.

Foothill Foreign Auto will continue with the oil changes and maintenance as needed as long as I own my Matrix.

Great small car with lots of room

The Matrix is a great car with plenty of space and head room. Gas mileage is ok for the size and weight of the car. Good handling with the low profile tires. Lot of bang for the buck. Talk to other Matrix owners and they love their cars too. The motor is real peppy, maybe a little to peppy.

Nice used car

Vehicle delivers power and good internal size for passengers. Nice cargo space in back and especially when back seats folded down.
