Please Do your research before choosing Atlantic Hyundai
1st of all I 'never" thought I'd "ever" buy a car at a car dealership, however for the fact you never pay the actual prices, theirs always Fees, fees and more fees and you end up paying way more then 5k the actual price after all fees etc. However, I have been searching for a Car for 2 years online I Guess ever since the pandemic, not only car prices have gone up the time it seemed like a lot of people were holding on to their cars. every car I seen online, I would say 18 out of 20 cars had accidents, salvage title or rebuilt title. and not only that, my wife and I were hit by a commercial tow truck going to PA, our car was Totaled so we had to get a Car right away. So, we decided to go to a car dealer. we Chose Atlantic Hyundai in west Islip we 1st asked for a ((Spanish Salesperson)) for the fact being my wife speaks and understand more Spanish than English, and my wife felt more comfortable. yet they advertise they have Spanish Speaking Sales person; they send us Sandra Redway which she knows no Spanish what so ever. she asked why Spanish and we advised why, but they still had us deal with her. We came to the Dealership already with a Car that we saw (which was a 2016 traverse) which was the car we ended up purchasing. well, the thing is ask me if our salesperson ended up telling you the Features or benefits or anything about the car. basically, just gave us the keys and a dealer plate and let us drive it. we basically sold ourselves the car....i forgot to mention That there was a manager named "Martin" we were dealing with to try to get a good deal because we were buying 2 cars. but at the time I only purchased her car because I couldn't find anything that I liked with my price range. Finally, 2 months later i went into the shop and ended up going over cars and found a 2021 Kona, which was giving the keys to test drive it. Same salesperson, again "she didn't tell me ANYTHING about the car any features etc. just basically asked if I liked the car and if I wanted it. that's about it. the 2nd time i went the manager Martin Didn't even want to deal with us, everything was by phone unlike the 1st time we went it was more on a personal level. we didn't like the way things went throughout the process at the dealership. it's like They are just more concerned about a quick sale. we bought 2 cars one sept 2022 and nov 2022 ... didn't get a call to see how the cars are doing etc. these weren't cheap cars. we spent a good amount on these cars. on our 2021 Kona, when given the car the automatic start wasn't working. I talked to our salesperson and Martin the manager I tried to see if they would fix or trouble shoot it. They both stated they couldn't do so that they would have to disarm it or can remove it but that's about it. that put the nail on the coffin already made the purchase and bought the car left and now that was their solution. That was until I had ended up Speaking to John Grasso the service manager stepping in and speaking to him about the situation and He was able to inspect it and see if he was able to do something about it his technician ended up Changing the alarm sensor at no charge and that was able to fix the automatic start issue. Another issue i Had was when i went for my 1st FREE oil change, they did the oil change. a few days later i had my mechanic do a brake flush and change the brakes because the dealership recommended a brake flush. When my mechanic Lifted up the car, it seems that when the dealership Did the oil change, where the filter was, they were supposed to remove a Large plastic pc. which they DIDNT they did a quick job, and all the OIL was on the large plastic pc which was supposed to be removed..... so, they did a BAD JOB.... I went on December 16th 2024 to do my last oil change on my Wifes car which i asked 2xs when I went there and asked how many More oil changes my wife had left on her traverse, They advised 1 left i said great... so i went 12/16/2024 to do her last oil change what does the person say, the time frame was exhausted you were supposed to do it within a certain time frame. I was like Really, I came to do my oil change on my konak recently and I asked about the traverse if it had an oil change left which the associate advised 1 left BUT never told me when or how long it had to be used by nor did my salesperson advise me when it had to be used by, they just advised me that I had x amount of complimentary oil changes on both cars. which I assume the time frame were in the terms in conditions. Well i advised the associate that I wanted to speak to Mr. Grasso. to see if he can do a onetime accommodation on doing my oil change. again, I bought 2 cars. I gave them A lot of business you figured they would do a 1-time accommodation and do the last oil change for free they said they can do it for $40 really. so, I said OK. but I'm there 3 hours from 740 i got there and 1045 it never got done as they didn't have filter yet i ended up leaving. But again. I believe Mr. Grasso had the power to honor the last oil change free of charge as an accommodation. definitely do your research people before Buying your cars Google search dealerships Read REVIEWS... again it's all GOOD they tell you what you want to hear when you go and buy your car that they will do this that etc. But when you go and buy your car, and you signed the paperwork etc. you're on your own. you're just a number... 1st time. and last time I'll buy a car at a dealership will go private seller as I have in the past 25 years. Thank you very much for listening to me vent. i know I didn't post right away in November of 2022 when i bought the car that is because I Wanted to have the cars WHICH THEY HAVE BEEN GREAT "Thank GOD" just wanted to have the cars for a while and see how was the experience in the long road with the dealership... so, I can give feedback....

fantastic service and i highly recomened
my mother and me needed a car very badly and we had trouble with a terrible dealer ( confidential can not say ) few days ago i called someone at atlantic and the guy really listen to what happened to my mother and me. it was very difficult to feel that confidence come and i really needed a bonding trust to really get help. really appreciate him listening and i hope what was told can help him aswell. bless you pal your the best thanks. not only for me but my mother and charity that needs to be started next month but i couldnt afford a car cause of our budget. this real kind sales men listen and he needed to know the kind of help we needed. my mother was afraid and so was me. we know things can get really bad. but after talking to the salesmen things started to get brighter. my mother is everything to me and i needed a safe car that can help my mom feel comfort and we have to travel to do donations and get things for charity. . we had a terrible 2 weeks with a not so happy repair shop and a terrible dealers . atlantic really helped us. what ever the sales men was thinking payed off. when he left for something he said he has. mom and me prayed and hoped he save us from our terrible ordeal . he told us to go with him and when we got to the door i was so excited by something that not only fit but it was what my mother and me talked about. it was higher off the ground. fully loaded and it was perfect. i didnt know what to say. he gave me the transmitter and mom didnt say to much and he went in the back. . i loved it cause it drove like my moms car before it was damaged in our driveway and it was so smooth. i had to hold myself. i was going to cry cause i felt as if i was treated so kindly by someone i didnt know. we needed a honest person who cared and listened. the drive at night was fantastic. wasnt use to the car. but realized later it was a ford like my truck. i am different then other people. i know cars. i can feel that the car was ment for us. it had the room to do all the things we wanted. one of our passions is metal detecting and inventing a special fishing pole for those with disabilities. secretly . cause it something import to help those who cant enjoy themselves. you have given my mother and me the kind of feeling we havent had since i miss my dodge ram charger. in 1986. atlantic you saved my mother and me. i just want to keep my mom safe and enjoy what i want to do. every customer must really talk to your salesman. tell them whats the problem. you need to gain his trust. you have a problem. talk to them. if you dont feel something just doesnt fit. talk about it. they will help. ask questions. you need to trust some how. some way. you have to try. have faith. believe that you be ok. talk to them. very positive they will help. we all dont want to get scammed . i know. i to understand. to all customers who read our review. dont think horrible thoughts you need to talk to them. be open direct ask questions. god bless you all and have a happy and safe holiday.

Terrible Dealership
t’s been 10 months since I bought my car here. The car didn’t have the floor mats and they were supposed to mail them to me. After months of “they are shipping tomorrow” and “they are on back order” my salesperson stopped answering my calls, texts and emails. I decided to call the main number so I could speak to the sales manager. I called for 2 weeks and every time I asked the receptionist if I could speak to the sales manager only to be transferred to a line that just rings and rings with no voicemail. The receptionist also asked if she could give them a message and I agreed. Still nothing. I decided to try the General Manager and same thing. Finally after leaving a negative Google review the GM called me. He said he would have someone call me to remedy my situation. I finally got a call from someone claiming to be a “customer service manager”. She seemed sincere at first until she told me that she needs me to take down the review before she could help me. She said if I take it down she will immediately send me a tracking number. I told her that after all they put me through I didn’t trust that would happen. After 10 minutes of trying to persuade me she said she would call me back. That was 5 months ago. I guess they are hoping I will just go away. Not likely!! I’ve seen a few of the many (and deservedly so) negative reviews for this place and they all end with an insincere message from management to call them to resolve the situation. This is the same manager I couldn’t get a hold of when I needed them

Elder abuse/ car fraud/
Atlantic, Hyundai how dare you take avantage of my neighbor, Mr. Medina he is an elderly man, but one of the nicest man I’ve ever met in the neighborhood. He walked into your dealership. As soon as you saw him, you took full advantage of an older man. here in the town of Babylon We are a very close community and we will all join in the fight for Mr. medina. I made a mistake years ago purchasing from you I’m not one to write reviews but this situation has my full attention. have purchased a vehicle from you in the past and it was a terrible experience, and once I found out that you did the same thing to my neighbor, how dare you.
your Atlantic Hyundai slogan says it all which is here at Atlantic Hyundai we do whatever we can to make the deal happen and that includes robbing an elderly person taking advantage of him. You made Mr. Medina purchase two cars in less than two weeks. This man is in his 80s you made him sign all these contracts including adding a $5000 maintenance fee for a brand new car on top of everything over $60,000 in loans. I cannot believe everything he told me horrible horrible shame on you.

81 year old taken advantage of
Don’t ever walk into this place they scammed by 81 year old father committed auto fraud sold him a lemon a car that after 2 days stopped working and then somehow got him to purchase a new 2024 car. No one has returned my call they completely scammed my father it’s disgusting and believe me this is not over. Someone better call me back soon left my number can’t get a manager by the name of Tim was told he was on vacation then was told he left early because he was not feeling well. It’s terrible that I am being ignored and my father has been taken advantage of. it’s disgusting what the dealership did. The first used car they sold him had him drive with an engine that after 2 days stopped working took it back and instead they somehow convinced him to purchase a new 2024’car. So. Ow my 81 year old dad owns 2 cars are you kidding right now??? Disgusting & Shame on you.

Help your dealership are con artist who take advantage of elderly people

Worst Service Department
Absolutely the worst service department possible. My airbag light has been on since I purchased my car new. I’ve been told time and time again it’s an issue with the seatbelt, which I have replaced 4 times at a cost of over $1600, to have the problem immediately return after the seat was moved by my wife then back by myself. At one point I was given a service bulletin from Hyundai 15-BE-002, that clearly says the airbag light may go on and when the computer is scanned the code indicates a resistance issue with the seatbelt, but it’s in fact a faulty connection under the seat. This came right from Hyundai Corporate and made perfect sense since it always occurred when the seat moved and loosened the connection. Yet they continued to insist it was the buckle, probably because their mechanics are trained to just follow whatever the computer code says. Have brought it in to be fixed 11 times. The car has been at the dealership a total of 97 days to have this problem rectified. The most recent time for 56 days to only be called the other day and told they did nothing, I could pick up my car. The only reason I brought it in the last time was, because after writing a review of my experience, they begged me to bring it in and they promise to finally fix it right. They even tried to get me to change my review multiple times, before I even brought it back and before it was obviously fixed. They never seemed to care, before they got a negative review. Most importantly and sadly, on multiple occasions during the most recent time in the shop, I was told that my airbag would have never deployed if the light was on (which it has been for 75% of the cars life), but I shouldn’t be concerned cause they maintain that the first line of defense is the seatbelt. Which keep in mind they continue to say is the problem, have replaced 4 times and told me an additional 3 times I needed to replace. But come on down and pick up your car with no airbag or working seatbelt, we can’t help you. I purchased the car from Atlantic Hyundai and have always had it dealer serviced. They do not stand behind the cars they sell nor the service they perform. Sell unsafe vehicles, charge the customer to make them safe, while never actually doing it. In addition I had an issue with the gas tank overflowing onto the side of the car, the ground and myself. I brought the car in 7 times for this issue. The month after my extended warranty ended they finally were able to determine the issue, the previous times they could not. I needed to replace the gas tank, I paid $2800 to complete all the repairs associated with this issue. During the most recent visit which I described above they told me I needed to replace the gas tank again, they just replaced 17k miles ago at a cost of $1400. Just another unsafe issue, they charge the customer to fix, while never actually fixing it. When I pointed this out, they told me at the least I needed to pay $400 in labor for them to remove the tank to see if they fixed it correctly the first time. This place just cares about money, not the product they sell nor their customers. Real shame too as I have purchased 5 Hyundais, and probably would never buy one again. At least from Atlantic Hyundai. Save yourself the grief and go somewhere else.

The ONLY reason for not giving 5 stars is because there was a miscommunication of what I requested completed. Once the advisor realized the error it was rectified quickly. Highly recommend the Service Department at Atlantic Hyundai
