Did not properly tighten drain plug, completely destroyed my car

I bought a new 2021 Hyundai Sonata from Freysinger in 2021. Less than 2 years later and less than 17,000 miles later, despite oil changes at their business every 3-6 months, the car is completely undriveable. They made a mistake during the last oil change and did not tighten the drain plug securely. A human error easily made, sure, but it caused the engine to lose all oil and seize while driving it on the highway. It destroyed the engine, the drive belt, the starter, and damaged other parts. Freysinger has refused responsibility arguing that someone must have slid under my vehicle while I was driving it on the interstate like Keanu Reeves in the movie Speed and unplugged the drain plug because it would be impossible for them to have done it and my car to still function for a short period after.

They have destroyed a vehicle that I paid them almost $40,000 for less than 2 years after purchase. They refuse to take any responsibility and continue to gaslight me. Hyundai corporate USA and another Hyundai dealer have both investigated the issue and found Freysinger Hyundai maintenance team as the most likely cause of failure and yet still Freysinger refuses to accept any responsibility. It's now been 4.5 months since this occurred. Meanwhile, I am stuck with a $10,000 repair bill, months of agonizing stress, and continual car insurance payments on a vehicle that cannot even turn on while it sits on another Hyundai dealership's lot waiting for resolution. I cannot recommend enough purchasing from literally any other dealer than Freysinger!!

These guys were the most unprofessional salesmen I have met in 30 years
of vehicle purchases , all of the deals you see on social media don’t exist ,
they all wait on some client who maybe happy to just buy a car , yes if you want to go into a dealership and share all of your personal information with salesman why the other sales persons are watching tv and in earshot answer questions the incompetent salesman can’t answer then do that but I think unprofessional! Also for those with impeccable credit don’t you think you deserve a little bit respect so do I need to say more ? And if you want more ask thanks

Typical car dealer

They are nice because they want to sell you a car. They lie about as much as any other dealer. If you are stuck and really need a ride, like after your nearly new Hyundai blows up (not purchased there), they will give you a loaner, but not for the 3 to 6 months it takes to get a new engine. So, then they will kindly rope you into another car purchase from a very limited inventory, which will, of course, need a non-transferable service contract and a warranty, so you will lose even more money
There is no great experience with this or any other car dealer, so do what research you can, and hope for the best

BEST dealership in the area

I spent weeks looking for a reliable yet affordable used car after mine was totaled in an accident. When I came to Freysinger, I was almost ready to give up. Not only were they extremely attentive and knowledgeable, they also gave me a fantastic deal on a great used car (not easy in this current difficult market). I've never experienced such an easy, stress-free car-buying experience. The owner, Tom, was not only knowledgeable and helpful, but also so pleasant and friendly to deal with (rare for such a large dealership). I would recommend this quality dealership to anyone looking for a vehicle. I will be coming here and only here for any future vehicle purchases.
