Annual Maintance
Had a planned service maintenance, and I requested them to investigate some of the issues I had with the car and I was told its going to be $250 for every issue investigation...and then if there is an issue they will check if its under warranty! Which is ridiculous as the reason I come to the center is to ask for help. I'd understand that there is a charge to fix it, but this is just next level. So I ended up not getting the issues checked by the tech.
I also asked them to update my software / navigation system and they said I should go online and do it myself! why would I do that if the service center can do it for me!

Stay Away - SCAM DEALERSHIP
DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS SCAM DEALERSHIP. They lied to me several times and sold me a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle that was not checked. As soon as I got home with the vehicle I opened up the passenger door to find the interior fabric of the door ripped. I called the salesman Sammy and told him the issue and e said he would call me back. Several days passed by and I called him again and he said he would call me back. After about a week of him not getting back to me I went to the dealership. I spoke to the sales manager Jesse Lopez. I told him I did not think the car was certified if something as simple and visible as an interior rip was not noticed. I asked him to recertify the car which he refused. He did repair the rip. I called Hyundai and they told me to rake it to another dealer. I could either pay for recertification or wait till service is required and the new dealership will look over the vehicle. When the new dealership looked over the vehicle they said the vehicle needed brakes, a drivebelt and brake fluid change costing about $1000.00. I asked the new dealership if they would have replaced and/or fixed these items. They said yes. I went back to the lying Paramus Hyundai and spoke to Jesse Lopez again. He argued with me but told me he would do what is right and he would call me. Well.... True to form I did not receive a call. I went into the dealership and Jess Lopez told me they will do nothing to help me. They say the car was certified even though there were visible rips in the interior, brakes required and other maintenance not done. I told him I would pay some of the costs but did not feel it was fair to me that Paramus Hyundai did not properly certify this vehicle. He told me with a smile on his face that I am out of luck. HORRIBLE DEALER!!!

go ANYWHERE but here
made an appt to bring my husband’s high-end Hyundai here on 2/19/24. My husband and I each drove separate cars, 1 hour round trip to drop the car off.

Despite me having given the scheduling agent ALL the correct car info, (make, model and year) and a full clear list of all the items we needed fixed for the service appt, when we arrived, we were told that that particular service center could not address 2 of the 3 issues we had.
I was so annoyed bc our time was wasted. I left and proceeded to make a series of ten phone calls, asking for managers and escalating the issue. I left 3 VMs for 3 different managers explaining in detail the issue we had and asking for a call back. NOT one single person has called back to date. I also spoke live to Sammatha, 3 times that day and she assured me that her boss, Heather would call me back. Well, it’s been 5 days and no word from Heather.

Why? because NO ONE cares. That is the level of service you get when you buy an 80K car.
We are better off with our local mom and pop gas station mechanic where we live.
I just called them again on 2/23/24 and spoke with Constantinos in the service dept. I asked him for Heather, he said he didn’t know who that was, but put me on hold for 6 minutes and came back and said the manager would call me back. I asked what the managers name was and he said “we are not allowed to give out that info”

Really? What kind of crap is that?

You know she isn’t calling back either.

Seriously, go elsewhere …anywhere else but here.

Service appointment
This is the worst dealership I have ever been to!! The customer service is atrocious. They are rude and nasty and don’t care at all. My driver side seatbelt keeps popping open and they will not replace it unless it happens in their presence. This is a major safety issue. I will NEVER Purchase another car from the dealership!! Avoid this place at all costs! Vivienne is the manager there and was condescending and obnoxious to deal with. This is the first review I have ever written because I feel so strongly about warning others NOT to purchase a car from this dealership.

Below is the response from the dealership. They sent me the general number to deal with the very same people that were awful to begin with. Awful customer service all around! I am now being forced to go to a different dealership than the one I purchased from. One would think after explaining the issues of safety that they would jump to rectify this issue. To date I have not received a follow up call. Disgusting.

Avoid This Dealership at All Costs!
Avoid This Dealership at All Costs!
I feel compelled to share a nightmarish experience we've had with this dealership, and I strongly urge everyone to steer clear of it. Our new car is grappling with a straightforward issue – it REFUSES TO POSS INSPECTION. Despite being well within the warranty period, the service department shockingly demanded $800 for diagnostics and a four-hour drive just to identify the problem. Their assurance to fix the car afterward leaves us skeptical.

Our attempts to address the issue directly with the dealership have been met with outright hostility. The manager went so far as to ask us to leave or threatened to call the police, insisting they can't assist with the car troubles. They consistently deflect responsibility, claiming the problem lies with their service department. Even after reaching out to Brian, our original salesperson (who is now in a finance position), and Ludwin Rosa, the manager who initially promised to help us pass inspection, our calls have gone unanswered. Ludwin Rosa, purportedly too busy to respond, has left us in the dark despite multiple attempts, including emails.

In a desperate attempt to pass inspection, we opted for an oil change, hoping it might alleviate the issue. Unfortunately, our $150 investment only unveiled an additional $2500 in necessary repairs. Undeterred, we proceeded with the inspection this morning, only to have the car fail once again.

This ordeal has persisted for over a year, characterized by ten unsuccessful attempts to resolve the issue. In stark contrast, our three older Honda cars from a different dealership have never given us a single problem.

The complete disregard for customer concerns displayed by this dealership is utterly unacceptable. Spare yourself the headache and look for a dealership that genuinely values its customers and stands unwaveringly behind its products. As someone who has purchased numerous cars, including a Honda Odyssey in 2007 that I still drive, this experience has been an unprecedented letdown.

$738 for keyfob, 1+ month to receive, and another $100 charge to put it together
I'd give -100 on a scale of 1 to 5 for my experience at Hyundai of Paramus if I could. I brought in my 2016 Hyundai Sonata into Paramus Hyundai for service over a month ago. I spoke with a very nasty woman behind the counter. I told her I needed a replacement fob. She charged my credit card for $738 for the replacement fob. According to JD Power in this article dated 3/23, a replacement key fob should cost $125. Hyundai of Paramus charged $735, it took over a month for a missing part to come in, and then they wanted to charge $100 more for installation even though they never said there was an additional charge for installation on our receipt for $735. Also, they wanted me to wait an hour to out together the key fob.

See the average key fob cost here:

Scammed, Deception disguised as Friendliness
Don't fall prey to their pressure tactics by the so-called "service specialists" upon your maintenance service visit. If they tell you your car needs so and so services in order to prevent harmful consequences (despite your car not reaching the required mileage + having no apparent broken compartments), say not now & do your own research before going through with it. Most likely, it is NOT necessary. Ex.) A Flush Brake System may be necessary when the time is right, but an additional Throttle Body Service, Emission System Service, Coolant Flush, all at $1400 when you haven't even reached 10,000 miles?! They will conveniently leave out the fact that these services are optional and unnecessary, but will pressure you using your fear of risk to make you think it has to be done, esp if you are a new car owner, or unfamilar of the services & requirements. They act as if your best interest is in their hearts, but the outcome will be the opposite. A so-called service specialist, Annie R., will tell you your mileage does not matter, but inconsistent maintenance service (every 6mo.) will cause these cost + service accumulations. All false, all guilt-tripping, deceptive. Scams disguised as friendliness.
Being a new customer, I had fallen into this trap, but truly hope no one else would have to go through with this. Once I had educated myself and reached back to them in complaint, they did not bat an eye and will tell you all was signed & done, that it is too late. Avoid Hyundai Paramus Services Center at all costs, they will treat you like prey at any chance they get.

Will ruin your car
My car is unfit to drive after getting work done here. Their technicians are either unqualified or they intentionally put my life in danger by telling me it’s safe to drive back home. Went to two other auto body locations both telling me it’s not safe to drive until I get something replaced that Paramus of Hyundai ruined. Service advisor Annie and manager VIVIAN needs to get fired immediately. Their technicians need to either be qualified or whoever said it was safe for my vehicle to drive back home needs to be fired as well

New car not street legal
Sleaziest car dealer ever. Said they would get our car registered in time then waited 2 weeks before they even stated the process. It got down to the wire, and they promised to send the plates the day after the temps expired but had no solution for us when I pointed out they'd be making us miss a day of work- they flat out refused to pay for a single day of car rental to rectify the problem and did not pass the issue on to their supervisor after several requests.

Mo was our dealer, he's a nice guy but you can't trust a word he says. He constantly promises things he can't get you. After paying 60k including their 5k dealer mark-up, I expect better. You can't trust the good reviews either because they beg customers and say it could affect their employement, I call BS and bad management.

Experience with the parts department
I went to get a new battery for the key. The charge was $12. I handed over my debit card and the employee took it and turned it over and inspected it. Odd. Then he asked for my zip code. Again, odd. Then he asked for my phone number. At that point I took back the card and paid cash. I use my debit card daily and for expenses higher than $12! I’ve never been asked for the zip code or phone number. You know when people say, if something doesn’t feel right, it usually isn’t. I would never go back there.
