I brought my car in about 2 & a half months ago because my front tires were making a loud rumbling sound when I went over 45mph. I explained this to the gentleman at the desk. He called back about an hour later saying that the technician who test drove it didn’t hear anything. I’ve had multiple people who rode in my car not only hear it, but comment on how bad it sounded. He suggested that maybe I needed new front tires because they were more worn than the back tires, and I was essentially dismissed. I ended up getting 4 new tires because no one could match my back tires, and it did nothing to solve the issue. When I finally took it to a different repair place about 2.5 months later, the technicians there immediately brought me back to show me that my left front tire was literally loose on the axel. All of my wheel bearings were bad and my front 2 control arms needed to be replaced. They said my tire could’ve come off at any time, and that I was very lucky that it hadn’t. Every technician there in the shop repeatedly said they had no idea how that could’ve been overlooked. That it was essentially impossible to miss.
I can only conclude that the technician who looked at it here was either unqualified or just plain negligent.
I would never recommend this repair shop to anyone.

Clattering undercarriage!
While vacationing on Isle of Palms my car began making a horrible clattering, flapping noise. Called and the gentleman told me to bring it right in. The guys put it up on the lift and fixed it in no time. The staff was polite and professional. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Out of towner NOT taken advantage of
I am from out of state (GA) and had an issue with my truck, I though it was a transmission issue. I stopped by and had Mr. Leon and his crew check it out. He called me later and told me they checked everything out and ran code checks on it. They had a code show up and they checked the issue out further and determined that the repairs I MAY need could be done by my local mechanic back in GA. He further told me he does not just replace parts for things that don't need changing and costing people unnecessary money. He is a RARE businessman in that he is 1000% honest, he could have charged me a lot but that's not his way. I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone !!!!!!!!! Mr. Leon if I can ever do anything for you PLZ let me know!!

Going Above & Beyond
I just found my new favorite auto service center. My car was damaged at a nearby car wash resulting in a plastic access panel dragging on the ground. I was not able to drive the vehicle in this condition without further damage. I asked Leon, store manager, if he could please help me by removing the panel so I could go to the dealership for repair. He didn’t do that. Instead he had the mechanic repair the panel and also tightened up two other areas that were loose. When I went to pay, Leon told me that it’s no charge. I am new to the area and I know where I’m getting auto services done going forward. Leon was also professional with the other customers in the waiting room. No hard upselling or unneeded services. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Great Service, High Standards!
Leon and his team were very knowledgeable, responsive and efficient. They also take extreme pride in treating your car the way it should be. I witnessed someone come in asking for the wrong oil because it was cheaper and they politely declined the business because the request did not meet their standards. I was very impressed with everything at Pit Stop Auto.

Poor customer service
The website gives you an option to choose 2 timeframes for an appointment. I understand the current climate of being short-staffed especially in the service industry; however, the response I got via email was, “ first come, first serve”. That was it. No apologies, the time slots are unavailable, here are some other times we have available, we are not taking appointments at this time, etc. I will never do business here.

The Best!
Having been in the auto service industry for over 30 years I can say this is a top quality shop. Fast, friendly and knowledgeable. Very reasonable pricing. I will certainly make this my Charleston go shop.
Except for the past couple years I had been going to Pit Stop for approximately 12 years. I had purchased a new car and was having it serviced at the dealership. It always took a couple hours to have an oil change done so I ended up going back to Pit Stop Auto. They have been consistent with their service. Happy to be back!
