Terrible
Brought my 2022 Santa Cruz in 3 times before being told I need a new transmission on a car that’s 2 years old. Was reving and transmission light came on. They replaced oil pump at first visit. Picked up my car after almost two weeks and got one mile away and light came on again. After second fix, worked for 40 miles and then light came on again along with reving of engine. No help with getting a loaner. Told I was on waiting list. Never again will I purchase anything from Pohanka. As soon as my truck is fixed, I’m trading it in on a Toyota at any other dealership.

Let the Buyer Beware - $2,000 later and Huyundai did NOT find the problem
The “check engine” light on my 2016 Tucson was on and the vehicle was running rough. The mileage was 115,000. I took it to the Pohanka Hyundai dealer in Salisbury, MD on April 26.

I was informed that there was a “misfire on coils 2 and 4.“ The service department recommended replacing the spark plugs. The bill for the plug assembly and the coil assembly was $635.00.

After driving the Tucson for approximately 1,000 miles, the check engine light appeared again. The same symptoms that prompted me to take the car in for service the first time appeared again. According to Hyundai, they “found a misfire on cylinder 2, 3, 4 . Confirmed misfire follows when moving coil 3. Cleared codes and confirmed CEL was off.” This time the bill was $335.00.

After driving 500 miles the check engine light was on again. This time Hyundai “performed compression test and engine passed. Installed new spark plug.” I was not charged for this service, although I spent several hours at the dealership waiting.

Barely 300 miles later, the light appeared again. I took the car in for service yet again. This time it was “misfire on cylinder 2, 3, 4. Called ‘techline” and advised tech to perform another compression test. Compression test passed. Recommend to replace all injectors. Installed new injector, cleared codes.” The bill this time was $1,187.00. I should have listened to my instincts and walked away from this vehicle. Instead I foolishly authorized Hyundai to make the “repairs.”

It seemed that each time I took the Tucson in for service, the problem was worse after driving the car for a while.

Less than two weeks later the check engine light appeared again. After spending over $2,100 and taking the Tucson in FOUR times, Hyundai had not fixed the problem.

This time the light was on and Tucson was overheating. I was not comfortable driving it and I was not going to go back to the Hyundai dealership and spend more money.

At the end of the day, it was my decision to continue to spend money on repairs. The dealer was not proactive in helping to repair the vehicle. The technicians did not (could not?) diagnose the problem. I would not recommend buying a Tuscon or any other Hyundai for that matter.

I would take my car back again even though they kept my car longer than expected. Carly had rental waiting for me and made me priority for me to be satisfied.. Service was done as requested, on time (probably finished a bit early) and at a reasonable price. Had an issue afterwards with my display, they furnished me a link to a video that walked me through a resolution. That's the way to resolve things. Thanks Pohanka

Not quite done
I had my 2019 Tucson in for service. On my way home I noticed the display only shows the speedometer. After getting home I went to the user settings on the Instrument Cluster Help Menu and the "Head-up Display" is no longer there. I contacted Pohanka and they said I might have to turn it back on under convenience but if that didn't work, I can stop by and they can take a look at it. After trying that I told them there is no such option. I explained that I live 45 mins away and would prefer to get the answer to fix it via e-mail or on the phone if possible. They haven't responded. They did something to disable it I think it's incumbent on them to help resolve it to my convenience.

It was a great experience!
The service department had all the work done in the time expected. They let me know exactly what they were intending to do. I had some operational questions about the vehicle, Devin came out and gave me a full explanation. I left there knowing what I needed to know.
Harry was our sales rep, he came over to visit while I waited. I explained I intended to be back at the end of the year because my next interest is the Santa Cruz. The last experience we had with Harry we will definitely be back Pohanka for our next purchase.

Easy In and Out
Like the fact that for an oil change and tire rotation I can just show up without an appointment. I was greeted promptly by the service advisor. I waited in lounge area and before I knew it , my service was completed. I have been here three times and the staff is always polite and professional.

Doesn’t honor what they put in print
I took my car for a lot of service. I had coupons for the service that were to be performed . I drove 35 miles to bring the car to the dealership. I showed them all my coupons prior to service. But at check out I was told I could only use up to $75.00 in coupons at one time. I had $98.00 worth of coupons. I was told it was their policy. Well that policy just SUCKS!! If you offer the coupon and I have the service done for the coupon, you should have honored it or at least told me prior to doing the work. Signed Angry Senior Citizen
