Good Car, . . .BUTT. . .
We purchased this car new in Oct. 2012, & have generally been more than satisfied with the cars performance except for one factor, (RUST !!!) Before the factory warranty had expired, small paint blisters & surface rust had appeared on the edge of both rear wheel wells. Since that time, the condition of those wheel wells has deteriorated to the point that the whole upper edge of these wheel wells wil now crumble, & fall off in your hand if touched.
To date, neither the dealership, nor the company has offered or provided any assistance in correcting this major design problem. (NOT MUCH OF AN ENDORSEMENT FOR THEIR WILLINGNESS TO ASSIST CUSTOMERS IN RESOLVING A BIG PROBLEM OF THE COMPANY’S OWN MAKING, IS IT?)
This particular model of the Ford Escape, or one very similar to it, had been in production at Ford for a nimber of years, and one might think th company could have engineered this rust problem OUT of the car by 2012. One would be mistaken in such an assumption.
Ford Motot Co. does not
erven seem to care about the fact that their refusal to help their customers to resolve this matter is going to cost them a lot of return customers.
