Good For The Long Haul
I have owned a1997 Ford Explorer for the past twelve years. I purchased it used in 2007. It was ten years old and had 60,000 miles on the odometer. It body was in great shape. There was not a speck of rust anywhere. It has a 5.0 V8 engine and All Wheel Drive. There were a few minor things that needed attention but were not costly to repair. It has serviced my needs well over the years and continues to be a dependable vehicle. It has lived in Arizona at our winter home providing us with basic transportation around the area, bringing us to places for recreation, and the family hauler when larger things needed to be moved.
I am very pleased with its performance and it remains a quality vehicle even though it is approaching 100,000 miles. It has been serviced regularly. The engine oil changed every 3,000 miles. Tires where replaced when needed. All the mechanical parts work in spite of its age.
It may not have the newest technology but it is still a pleasure to drive.
