BlueLink loosing signal, cutting in and out.
Bought the Elantra brand new last year from Ken Garff Hyundai Downtown. I live in Davis County and work in Salt Lake City. On the commute to work and back home the Bluelink system constantly cuts in and out. I have dropped important cell calls, and am unable to listen to my Apple Music. Last time I took it for an oil change, I told Jason at the service desk about this problem. He said they would update the software which may fix the problem. If it does not, let him know. There is a. SD card that they could replace that would fix it. When I left to drive home, the problem persisted. I immediately texted Jason that it was still a problem. That was January 16th. No response. Four more texts to Jason, the last being January 21st. No response. I called twice and finally got through the gauntlet to the service desk on February 8th. The man who answered instructed me to bring the car in Friday morning (today) and they would fix the problem. As agreed I left my work and went to Service. There I saw Jason who told me there is nothing they can do for me. He said I should get in touch with the software company that Hyndai uses called "MapnSoft," and have then send the SD card and Thumb Drive. I asked, "will there be a charge for this?" He said, "there may be, I don't know." To which I asked, "Why should I be charged to fix a problem with a brand new Hyundai to make the thing work as it should?" He had no answer. I told him. "Very well, I will go back to work and look up the MapnSoft web site, which I did. On the CHAT line I described the problem and asked if there is a fix for that. Their response was that they have no fix for that problem. That I should contact "Hyundai Customer Care," or reach out to directly to "Bluelink." I sent this response to Jayson and he texted me that I should make an appointment for Monday an leave the car for the day. So this is why I cannot recommend the Hyundai Elantra. First the Bluelink is unreliable, and second because they will tell you to fix it yourself.
