Avoid this Lemon

We purchased a new Sonata Hybrid from Russell Westbrook Hyundai and were dismayed that it utterly failed within a month. An oil leak occurred within 2 weeks of buying the car and the dealer said they needed to keep the vehicle for an undetermined amount of time, but at least two weeks. We were told the engine needed to be replaced. The dealer did not provide a rental until 2 days later and Hyundai Motor Corporation did not agree to swap the car and instead is installing a remanufactured- NOT new- engine. Avoid this lemon!

Great Car! Very happy with it.

We purchased our Sonata Hybrid this year after our Prius battery died. I like it even better than the Prius. It is very roomy, comfortable and has much more power. And we are still getting about 42 mpg, which is great since we drive a lot. Plus their warranties are the best out there. We get so many compliments on how great it looks too. We are very satisfied!

Love the gas milage

I love the gas milage I get out of my 2017 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. It has great power. There are a few amenities I wish the car had but I guess I will survive. It would be super nice to have a windshield wiper on the back window. When I use auto start to have the ability to turn on the back defrost. Have auto start on the key faub and not have to subscribe to BlueLink to use auto start. Heated steering wheel would have been great, adjustable gas and brake pedals and lumbar support for passenger. Heated back seats would be appreciated. Automatic dimming and adjusting side mirrors would be helpful.

Impressions after 12,000 miles

Conservative driver, me. Coast to traffic lights or slowing vehicles rather than apply hard braking. Usually drive under 70. Gas milage loaded is 42-44 mpg. This is a comfortable car with many conveniences, roomy for passengers and luggage. Not a performance car, but has power for passing and getting up to speed for the turnpike. Quick turning radius. Holds a straight line on the road. Quick steering makes using the touch screen electronics a safety hazard. You can drive off the road trying to select ESPN.

This is my 2nd hybrid I love the Hyundai sonata body style options and performance I can drive from Saint Louis to Ohio on a full tank of gas in still have over a quarter of a tank of gas left when I get to my destination in Ohio
