Outstanding vehicle for the money.
We bought this vehicle new in 2011, it has about 112,000 miles on it. In that time we've had 1 issue, a fuel pump go bad. Hyundai replaced it and gave us a 10% discount on the new pump since it had been redesigned since we bought the vehicle. There was one recall that was serious, which ended up not being found in our vehicle. Hyundai said they would supply a loaner car if ours had been affected. Not sure what other manufacturers would do in a similar situation, but that's a good example of customer care, to me. Overall, it's a joy to drive & ride in, very roomy interior and trunk space. We've always been brand "X" fans, but the Hyundai factory is near our home and after a tour we wanted to give the Sonata a try. The engine is designed to truly be fuel efficient and yet still very responsive, and we have found this to be the case. We get up to 35 mpg on highway driving even though we usually cruise at speed limit. If I have to accelerate, for whatever reason, it always seems to have the punch I need. For example, merging onto the interstate going from 10 to 70 is a breeze. Cars will pull over to let me merge and I usually end up passing them by the time I leave the on-ramp. The features we got for the money just seemed to be the best among comparable vehicles. Very nice car, will probably replace it with another when the time comes.
