The Hyundai Veloster that debuted in the US in 2012 is a revelation of what car driving SHOULD BE, fun, efficient, exhilarating, effortless, and....FUN!
I drive Stick/Manual in my European centric cars because you have more handle on the road, and if you lived in a snowy climate it was an essential skill.
I was on assignment in Portugal and saw the 2011 VW scirocco reissue and had car jealousy, Cars in Europe are OUR sports cars, they have to maintain 90mph + on highways and have tight suspension for tiny streets and be fuel efficient, they are all diesel. I returned to the USA I thought I saw one of these VW's in a lot, but it was the Hyundia Veloster!
I went looking for one to lease right away, the VW did not sell in the states, because no one would want the other VW's.
I leased a RED Veloster, Manual, 45 MPG Highway, base model, Stick. People often asked me if it was a Porsche and it was AWESOME!!!!!
It fits 4 adults with leg room as opposed to a Mini Cooper or a coupe with 2 doors.
It had some computer / Fuel injection issues which Regional Hyundia handled in time, I am on my 2nd Veloster, BLUE, and may have to find a used Turbo soon,
and live a little.... while avoiding speeding tickets.
The Hyundia Veloster is like a German Sports Car with out having to make a mechanic your best friend.
Hyundia really knows how to make something dependable and FUN!!! Did I mention it was fun?
