Solid and Dependable, Comfortable, too!
I purchased this Avalon new in 2011. It was replacing a 2008 Cadillac DTS Performance Series. To be honest, I had second thoughts about losing all the amenities that the Caddy had, but my wife complained of hard-to-park issues. When I drove the Avalon for the first time, I realized how light the car felt compared to the Caddy. As I continued to drive, I decided that overall we could be very happy with this car. Now in 2017 we are still driving and still like this car. We have looked at others lately but can't really see enough in newer ones to make us want to part with this one. I have also looked at the newest series of the Avalon but they just don't have the overall "personality" that ours has. In the event that we purchase a new one, I figure we will keep this car. The interior has held up well as has the powertrain. It just has a look and feel that I like. There are a few items that could have been better, however. The instrument panel is very poorly executed and is very hard to see in the daytime. Also, it is beyond me why the 12-volt and accessory outlets in the very bottom of the armrest storage area. I don't think a more difficult area could have been selected unless it could be in the trunk. Still though a great car and we love it.
