Don't treat a Prius like any other car when it comes to a cooling issue

IF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT comes on, or the TEMP GAUGE starts showing the car is overheating - STOP IMMEDIATELY and DON'T drive it ANY MORE! PRIUS' does not use a mechanical water pump - it's an ELECTRIC pump - and it it, or the Thermostat, goes out there is NO water circulating thru the engine AT ALL! Meaning a very., very short time to a Blown Head Gasket! READ the Owners Manual,. very carefully, to learn all the other "quirks" in the car design. IF you maintain the vehicle properly, it's a fantastic, economical, comfortable machine. Just stay on top of the maintenance.

Very pleased with this car.

I bought this car with a salvage title. It had been totaled and rebuilt in Arizona. They did a great job. These cars are very reliable but very expensive to repair.

Runs like a car should

Since I bought my car used a year ago I’ve put over 40k miles on it. It runs like a car should. I have the oil changed regularly and have had to change the three year old 12 volt battery, but that’s it. I get 43 mpg highway.

The best car ever (for me)

All my friends envy my gas mileage and aesthetic. They love the interior and nice speakers as we all chill and ride to our destination. It’s different and has its own characteristics. The speakers are UBL for factory stock.

This car was bought from fred Anderson Toyota used looked great ran great.i was given the family plan but threw the yrs have documented them not rotating my tires and or adding any oil or washer fluids.ive either documented these times or brought to service rep/serv.mgrs./loan mgr./and GM..and attempted to contact fred Anderson and his son Michael but got there asst.VM...I was banned from there dealerships with a no trespass or be arrested .I was told no more servicing upon arrival with no phone call or written notice.wouldnt this be preach of contract or harrassment cause asking for the oil.washer fluid rating my tires be done properly when not done at all at times.my car has now suffered at hands of Toyota and cost me dearly and I cant even talk to fred Anderson leading dealer of n.c.

Love My Prius

I assume that the Prius is the state car for California (like the state flower, bird, etc.), and I can see why. The 2010 model cured just about all of the concerns I had (pep, interior space) while maintaining its reputation for quality and reliability. I've got 166K miles on my 2010, and I hope for another 166K.

Great ‘til engine broke

Our Prius is a comfortable car on trips and for general use. However, we had to have. New head gasket ($3000) at 160,000 miles. Put a dent in our economy. Plastic shields on the belly of the vehicle come loose periodically and rattle or drag on the street.

Review 2010 Toyota Prius

My wife wanted this car so we bought it new in 2010 for her to drive. Frankly I was somewhat skeptical about buying it. However, it has been the best car we have ever owned and that includes several Audis, a Mercedes, Chevrolets, Fords, etc. Since we bought the Prius the only money it has cost beyond routine maintenance of oil and lube is two 12 volt batteries and tires. We have still not had to reliance the brakes although we have our 92,000 miles on the vehicle. The body and interior still look like new and it continues to give MPG of over 52 in town and 49 on the highway. We are as you can see very pleased and impressed with the quality and performance of our Prius!

Nice vehicle, expensive to repair.

The Prius is a very reliable vehicle. It'll start at -40 F (not advisable) after a couple tries even if it's not plugged in. I've had block heaters in all my Toyotas and routinely leave them plugged in when temps are going below 0. Except for emergencies, I avoid starting any vehicle when the temps are bitterly cold. I've owned this Prius since May 2017. It is a salvage vehicle and was rebuilt very well and included a comprehensive list of part replacement.. Salvage vehicles are thousands cheaper to buy: I've bought them several times before from reputable 'flippers' and they've worked out very well. That said, the best of Toyotas are accompanied by expensive and (I think) unreasonable repair costs. The first major fix on mine was the cooling fan and its components. This is a Toyota part: no reliable after-market sources. The cost to replace this fan and some smaller, peripheral issues was north of $1000. The part just failed: nothing to do with being a salvaged vehicle. The next major fix that showed up was the passenger-side headlight/marker lights. Every Toyota I've owned had this issue. The problem is in the factory wiring: gauge is too small to carry the current. You'd think there'd be a recall on this but, nope. This project costs north of $800. I'm not doing that fix: I can buy a LOT of bulbs for that money without compromising safety. Would I buy another Prius? Yes. Would I buy another salvaged Prius? Yes. They can be found cheap enough to put money into them and still make sense. Some flippers even offer good warranty's AND all recalls apply to salvaged vehicles as well. At the end of the day, you know what you're driving

Toyota Prius is a gem of a car.

Our 2010 Toyota Prius is our third Prius we have owned. We purchased our first Prius new in 2006, traded for a 2008 and now the 2010, each year has shown excellent improvement in creature comforts, performance and ride. When you add the special customer service after the sale with the customer car care provided by the service department at Parker Toyota, you can drive a new or used car from this dealership with all the confidence desired by Toyota for each and every customer of Toyota. Five Stars all around.

Overall

The excellent gas mileage sold me. The leg room in the back seat is above average. A 6'2" male easily rides in comfort for an extended period of time. Our grandchildren fit comfortably. An infant car seat is snug, but works.

Great Vehicle

I have replaced the Hybrid Battery and the Front Struts recently so far at 100,000 miles. The integrity of this car surpasses any vehicle purchased in the past. I will consider Toyota first for my next car!

Expected better quality

Loved the 2020 Prius until a leaky head gasket cost us $4000 at 160,000 miles. We kept the car even so because it is so comfortable on the road. There is a lot of road noise. Don’t know why you require 200 words for this. I said what I wanted to say is 78.

Keeps on Ticking

Never needs service except oil change and those short-life low-lamp headlights. Beyond awesome fuel mileage. Clean style interior, huge rear storage. Can park and u-turn in tight spaces, perfect for city life. I will keep mine forever and just re-battery if they ever die (at 185k currently)

Best car I have ever had!

My 2010 Toyota Prius has been the best car, very dependable, large enough for skiing, hiking and road trips are the best! Love the gas mileage and never watch the price at the pump cause it's always cheap when you have a Prius! My boyfriend who has an Acura even loves it, we never take his car on a road trip, though his is nice, it's really nice to pay only a third in gas. I just love the car, never need another one.

Economic Work Horse

This is my second Prius and I really enjoy and appreciate it. Spacious, safe and economical are qualities that immediately come to mind. The car is comfortable and handles well. Plenty of space too. Add the fuel economy and I one happy person.

Love It

I still love my car! It has been trouble free outside regular maintenance. It is a comfortable drive for long trips. I can haul a lot in the back, and best of all, it gets awesome gas mileage! This is by far the best car I have ever had, and I feel, very reliable.

I love my Prius! Gas mileage saves me a bundle and makes my budget work. The vehicle really moves when I step on the gas. There is no wait for the power to kick in. And it’s very reliable. It’s pushing 150,000 miles and haven’t had to do any major repairs.

2010 Prius is still getting 50 MPG

Love the 2010 Prius so much that I own 2 of them. They run great. One has 109,000 miles and one has 60,000 miles. Easy to maintain- no issues with batteries. They have so much room. I can haul 3x8 foot wood for my home projects. I can even fit single mattress in the back. The car is comfortable for 4 adults. I have driven one back and forth to Florida many times. My neighbor liked it so much she bought one. Highly recommend the Prius. And my favorite thing is I cut my gas station stops in half - saving me a lot of time out in extreme heat or cold or rain pumping gas.

If miles per gallon is your primary goal

I bought the 2010 Prius because I had a job that required a lot of travel. The company paid 55 cents per mile and I on;y needed a seat for me. No other equipment had to be carried, so the Prius was a perfect fit traveling and had all the needed extras. There was a good radio, a good air system, maps, vision when you backed up, easy to handle, and much more. I still like it even though I very seldom use it now.
