I currently own a 2006 STS with the LH2 Northstar engine with all wheel drive, definitely is a reliable and powerful daily driver, I only run 91 gas and I do my own maintenance and repairs, the wheel bearings are common to replace I just did the drivers front which had slight play in it and the driver’s rear which was howling when it would go 30mph or higher otherwise a very solid machine other then poor GM dash quality and the paint on both rear wheel fender arches are bubbled and rusted, I also replaced both of the Magnetic ride control rear shocks with standard shocks due to the air ride compressor literally rusted right off where it mounts to the body behind the Right rear wheel, I live in Wisconsin so unfortunately the salt got the best of some parts. The runs strong and the AWD is amazing for winter conditions definitely takes spirited driving like a sport sedan should, I would recommend getting the V8 option anytime! The V6 is too underpowered and has a major timing chain and oil consumption flaw, especially if poorly maintained such as oil changes. I definitely recommend getting the STS V8 for those who seek an American luxurious sports sedan!
