New Genesis Nightmare
New Genesis Nightmare😡
I bought a brand-new Genesis GV80 2025 just two weeks ago—black exterior with a brown interior, really sharp. I drove it home from the dealership, and the very next morning, the car wouldn’t start. Tried again, and luckily it did. I didn’t think too much of it at the time.
Before I even started using the car regularly, I took it to get ceramic coating. The next day, I get a call from the shop saying the car is ready but… it won’t start. They asked if they could jump-start it. I called Genesis, and they said, "No," and sent roadside assistance (which was AAA). After struggling to get the car in neutral to get it out of the shop, they towed it to the nearest dealership. Turns out, the battery was defective! They replaced it within a day, which I appreciate, but no special service was provided. I had to Uber back and forth myself.
When I got the car back, there was an orange triangle with exclamation marks on the dash, telling me to "check the authentication system." I assumed it would clear itself, but it didn’t. The dealership now wants to replace the entire system.
At this point, I called Genesis customer service to request a return of the car—after all, it only has 225 miles on it. To my surprise, the case manager was *upset* that I even made the request. She offered me a gift card instead of seriously addressing the issue.
I’m honestly at a loss here. This is not the experience I expected from a luxury brand like Genesis.
