GV80 Coupe - a perfect meld of luxury with a hint of sport

A wonderfully balanced vehicle between luxury and sporty styling. Truly enjoy driving the car and all the features included. Ride comfort and driving experience are very pleasing. The infotainment system is easy to navigate. The sound system is also very clean and powerful. The quiet ride makes driving a much pleasant experience on longer trips

Middle of the Road

Exhilarating performance, beautiful lines, sumptuous interior, all to be let down by poor ergonomics, over emphasis on electronic over-rides, and not enough focus on driver and passenger comfort. Considering the premium price paid, this vehicle should have significantly more options. Example would be adjustable ride height, configurable electronic controls - not just off or on - and significantly better ergonomics. The dials for shift and info-tainment controls are in awkward locations and are easily confused. They should be uniquely different. Steering wheel controls are not as intuitive as other brands leaving the driver having to study up on everything vs it coming intuitively. Seat position and HUD positioning and Dash positioning - are absolutely terrible. You cannot see the dual dials without the steering will being nearly vertical leaving one to drive with it at an awkward angle in order to read them. The HUD will only raise to a limited point and is easily cut off from view if you are taller - make it somewhat useless as a safety feature. We purchased this vehicle for safety reasons - HUD, Blindspot detection, Easier night driving - but based on the poor ergonomics - I'm beginning to think its set up may actually make it more difficult for us - can't read the gauges without the wheel being at a weird angle, the HUD is too low to be of any use, because you can see the twin dials - it is of no use for lane changes at night. Middle of the road - at best.

It's Okay!!

No spare tire and nothing other than a factory warranty on the tires, which is mileage coverage only. Not road hazard. Hard to purchase that via Discount Tire. They push the scent diffusers and the mood feature..but they don't tell you the scents are $200+.🤔

Beautiful Design

The design, the smooth ride, the power and the luxury make this one great vehicle. I've had this car now for almost 5 months and it's one of the nicest vehicles I've owned. I've had many luxury cars over the years and this one tops them all. If you haven't tried a Genesis, you're missing out!

Very comfortable vehicle, great dealer experience

Quality, comfort and quietness of interior is comparable to Mercedes. Power of 3.5T is smooth and makes a great touring vehicle. Very good dealer experience (Weatherford, TX). Comprehensive features in prestige trim. Software is fairly easy to use. Eye tracking does not like most sunglasses and will turn off driving aides, no option to turn it off. Still no ability to get wireless apple carplay.

GV80 3.5L A Great Drive

While I have only driven this vehicle for ~1,100 miles, it has shown absolutely no issues. It has been a pleasure to drive and the electronics are fantastic. This is our third Genesis, two G80’s with V-8’s, so we have believed in the brand dating back to a 2012 “R-Spec”. We are confident the GV80 will continue to perform well for years to come.

Great SUV not without issues

I have purchased many new vehicles without a single one that had immediate issues so I didn't hesitate to buy my GV80 in Lakeland, a bit over an hour drive from my home in Tampa, while knowing there was no dealership in Tampa. My mistake. I almost immediately received a recall notice and started getting low voltage warnings from the phone app. Now I am looking at that long drive for service on horribly congested I4. I love everythning about my GV80 except this one issue I should have avoided. My mistake.

Love the GV80!

Love the GV80, but I am disappointed to find out that only Jenkins Genesis of Northeast FL is the only dealer servicing the Genesis vehicles in our area. There is a two week backlog before I can even get in to check a burning plastic smell coming from the engine.

Too soon to know for sure.

Too difficult to set up profiles. I would strongly suggest simplifying the set up process. It is almost an act of God to change the radio station. After finally setting up both profiles there was a computer issue and both profiles got messed up. If you cannot tell the set up process almost caused me to return the 80+ thousand dollar car back to the dealership!

My favorite SUV

This is my second GV80 (2022 & 2025). I like the new 27" screen, the engine performance, the steering performance, glove compartment, upgraded speakers. The cabin is quieter and ride is better. Areas that need work are the dials on the radio are too small, no improvement with the seats, I find them very uncomfortable. The review camera is terrible / blurry, so we never use it. I don't think Apple play interacts well with the car system.

Complicated Media & Cruise Control Sun Glasses Flaw

GV80 Cruise Control doesn't work & shuts off with sun glasses. Genesis can't or won't fix this flaw. This is unsafe. Why can't Genesis correct this curse control safety issue/ They've known about it for couple years. Why Not? Media is too complicated for easy use. GV70 far superior media across the board

Amazing luxurious SUV!!

I was surprised when I test drove the Genesis and fell in love immediately. It felt solid, Luxurious, smooth…only regret is third row is not a true third row. With slanted back window, it cannot hold an adult. Just wish the third row was roomier and it would be the perfect car! Sant amazing features- massaging seats, windshield projections of speed and traffic signs and speed limits… cool features!

Almost perfect…

Car overall is a phenomenal value in the luxury SUV market; however, there are a couple of key shortcomings which leave something to be desired. The GV80 does NOT presently have wireless CarPlay as advertised; functionality was originally released shortly after the cats release but then called back due to safety issues, but we are now 6+mos following the car’s release with no updates available as to when the functionality will be available to the owner. Also, the GV80 is advertised to be capable of a 6,000 lb tow capacity, BUT there is no tow package available, so is not something the consumer can realize…extremely frustrating, again 6 mos following car’s release with no updates available.

Great Vehicle

The Genesis GV80 styling is stunning. The entire car on the outside looks fantastic and the exterior black color is beautiful in person. When you unlock the car all the LED lights on car line up all along the side with the front and the back and it's really cool looking. The rims are 22" rims that are beautiful and the brake calipers say "Genesis" on them. The Grille is beautiful in person. The rear of the car also looks very nice with the way the taillights wrap around the back of the car. The interior is beautiful and elegant. Genesis used high quality materials throughout the entire car. Everything is either a very soft touch feeling or real metal. The leather seats are top quality too. I haven't found a surface yet that I have touched and thought "this doesn't feel good." The 27 in 3D digital screen for the dash is very nice and I do love the inverse tachometer. At first it was a little weird seeing the tachometer go the other direction but once you get used to it it's very cool looking. The technology on this car is also unbelievable. It does almost anything you could ever think of. It has the "Smaht Pahk" feature from the super bowl commercial which is very cool. The 360 camera automatically comes on when pulling into the garage which is great for parking. A camera also shows you your blind spot on both the right and the left when you put your blinker on in addition to the traditional BSI system. The screen itself has an HD display and the maps are crisp and look very nice. You can check almost anything from the app on your phone, including using the app as the key to the car. The heads up display is done well and you can clearly glance down at the important information. The controls for the infotainment are very easy to use, it has a scroll dial you can use but it also has an option for the touchscreen. The HVAC and some radio buttons are the tradition push buttons to make it easier too. Apple CarPlay takes up the entire screen which is really cool, but the one negative I would say I've found is that it's not wireless CarPlay. You still have to use a cord, which is annoying for such a high dollar car. This is one of those things we are still learning all of what the car has to offer because there's so much there. Driving the car is great too. The 3.5T engine has incredible power and a lot of low end torque. The car is still in the break in phase so nobody has driven it hard yet but even still you can just feel the power there. It takes corners very well and while nobody has pushed it yet, you can tell how well it handles a turn. The ride is smooth, but the only thing I've noticed is that it doesn't seem to love speed bumps. If you take those too fast it's not terrible but definitely not as smooth as it normally is and my dad has two in his neighborhood between the entrance and his house. However, if you're uncomfortable just turn on your massaging seat. Both the front and rear have the option for heat and cool, and when you hit the button it's almost instant. Don't leave it on level 3 for too long because you'll get too hot or cold. Genesis offers 3 years maintenance included with concierges service. So they'll just come pick up the car at the house and service it for no charge. The car also comes with 10 year / 100K powertrain warranty which is the best in the industry. These are just some initial thoughts and I am sure I am forgetting some stuff, but overall it's a really great car. The price point for this makes it very attractive compared to it's rivals and it's nice to see Genesis enter the SUV market which is growing so rapidly here in the US.

Vehicle is great, had more features in my Palisade than in my GV80

I had more features in my Palisade than in my GV80. If this is an upgrade then it believe it should atleast have the features my Palisade had...disappointing. My personal information was also left in the glove box at trade-in!! therefore, it was shared to the next customer that purchased the car from your dealer. Prompting him to call me...very poor customer service and invasion of my privacy.

I just love driving my Genesis

Beautiful vehicle. I never enjoyed driving but now I argue with my husband to drive especially on long trips. I’ve had it almost a year and still get excited to drive it. I wish I could get floor mats from genesis and that service wasn’t so far away from us

Luxurious, fun to drive, money well spent

The vehicle drive modes and the way it changes the cluster is amazing. The interior and exterior styling is amazing. I have a 2.5T Prestige GV80 only complaint I have is the digital rear view mirror, for the highest trim I should atleast get that feature or the power reclines rear seats.

My Genesis experience is fantastic

Great Car

Love the car. Have only had it for a month, but so far it is worth the money. I have a few very minor complaints such as over the air updates were complicated and slow but would highly recommend it. Love the interior. Very comfortable. Great ability to personalize the infotainment, driver cluster, seat, and other settings. Would buy another.
