GT N Line + Tech Package - My 4th Hyundai, Won't be the Last!
This is my 4th Hyundai! I had an 03 Santa Fe, 06 Elantra, 12 Veloster, and this one. I wasn't necessarily looking to buy, but I saw that Hyundai would be discontinuing this car at the end of 2020, and I didn't want to miss out! I've been a huge fan of Hyundai for 20 years, so I didn't need to be "sold" on this one. But, once I checked it out, it was almost a no-brainer! Let's start with cosmetics. When compared with the 2020 Elantra sedan, with its sharp angles and jack-o-lantern face, this little hatchback, more fluid, and rounded, is quite handsome from any angle. From the grill to the rims, the headlights to the bumper, there isn't really an unattractive spot anywhere.
The same goes for the inside - the black leather and red stitching are quite striking, and the red accents add a sportiness without appearing pretentious. Speaking of the inside, the features of this car are stunning! The panoramic sunroof is gorgeous. The back seats lay flat to allow for plenty of cargo space. Touch screen sound system and navigation. You still get a bit of that sporty feel with the "sport" drive mode, and use of the paddle shifters, or manually shifting the gearshift. Automatic hold brake - may not seem that exciting, but when you stop at a light, and can relax your foot without fear of rolling anywhere, it definitely makes driving more comfortable. And, comfort - certainly 2 of my favorite features are the heated and ventilated seats. Heated seats are pretty standard fair on many vehicles. But, ventilated? In a 4 door hatchback priced at $30,000? That's crazy! I'm not too big into the mechanics and performance as some others might be. But, I will say, it's pretty peppy, the "sport" mode is great for revving the engine a little higher for passing or long accelerations. It corners well, responds quickly, the safety features help with sudden stops or slow-downs. The smart cruise control, while maximizing safety and distance, can be a little hypnotic after a while. Set it for 72, and wind up going 65 for miles without realizing it! MPG is great as well. All in all, for the price, and all the cool features, this really was a car I couldn't pass up. I hope Hyundai will re-introduce it again soon!
