Great Vehicle
This is my first Hyundai, and I was a bit nervous. We purchased the SEL version, with the 2.0 liter. I was really tempted by the turbo, but as it turns out, unless you're going to be street racing the 2.0 works well, you just have to coordinate the acceleration with the gearing. It gets better gas mileage than my 2016 Mazda 3 with a 2.0 liter. In fact, on one trip in particular, with the cruise set on 70 mph on a secondary road, I got 37.5 mpg. Normal freeway speeds and traffic, I get 33+ mpg, with in-town being around 27-28 mpg. For a crossover, you can't beat the mileage. The main hidden feature is the suspension. The Kona corners at speed as well, if not better, as my previous Mazda 3. The vehicle is solid, great ride and does exactly what I wanted it to do. The only negative is, the lane warning system gives you little hints through the steering system concerning staying in your lane. I find this to be very disconcerting, and keep it turned off most of the time. Bottom line, the Kona is stylish, sporty, and a great value for the money.
