Kona Ltd

I love my Kona - The turbo engine has great acceleration, both driver and passenger have plenty of room and ample room for rear passengers, fold down and cargo storage galore. Can't beat Hyundai reliability, price point and warranty. Our third Hyundai - all quality products!

I love my KONA!

I just completed a cross country trip in my new Kona and I love the car! It handles effortlessly, has plenty of speed when needed and rides comfortably. I got an oil change in Idaho and the dealership was as nice to me as a regular customer. I'm thrilled with my Kona.

Great choice

great looking-fun to drive-small with great gas mileage, and 4WD. The warranty is probably the biggest reason I purchased. Can't be beat. The rest is gravy. My Mercedes Benz C300 engine blew itself up, and they wouldn't help, so warranty was key. This is actually more fun to drive than my Audi TT Roadster.

Great car

Gonna buy another Kona next year. Would like the blue color with black interior. Maybe some black rims 1.6T engine would be prefect Hyundia Elgin is the place to buy from. Great costumer service and very friendly place.

Great car; reliable. Drive assist features malfunction at times.

Great car overall. Looks great and fun to drive. Does everything I need it to do. Would be great if it had more legroom for people in the back seat and little trunk space considering the size of the car. Blind spot indicator malfunctions regularly. Have been trying for months to get it fixed by dealership.

Kona

Fun zippy car but it stuffers like it wants to stall. Has room for weekend getaway but not enough to use for midsized project trips. Fold down seats are helpful and it’s a beautiful car to drive. I like the vehicle assist package.

Poor reliability with quality issues in recall

I have three NEW Hyundai sitting in my driveway. All three had RECALL issues. This does not speak well of Hyundai. The possible engine failure in the Kona is very troublesome. The related inspection to see if my car is affected is suspect. You can;t get a concrete answer from the dealer or the Hyundai customer car on what happens if the issue fails later in the car life. Easiest thing to do is get rid of the possible LEMON.

It’s a great car

It’s a fun car to drive, sound system is great I listen to more music and usually past my exit. I owned a Hyundai Sonata before therefore I stick with the best. I can’t wait for their truck to arrive

A lot of luxury features for a little bit of money.

I have been a Mazda owner for years, I have now switched alliances. The Kona is one of the best looking small utility vehicles. I love all the features and it’s fun to drive. The interior is nicely appointed and all the electronics are user friendly.

sporty, versatile, safe vehicle. I highly recommend the Kona. I appreciate the details on the vehicle. My wife also owns a Hyundai Tucson and likes her vehicle for many of the same reasons. I would recommend a Hyundai to most anyone.

I really want to give this car a 5 star review but…

I can’t consciously give it 5 stars. When the car was built, the technicians failed to connect something under the headliner that controlled the gps. Since that time, I’ve had issues with the gps system and the Bluelink system. I’ve owned this car for 2 months and so far, it’s been at the dealership for 19 days of the 2 months that I’ve owned it. Hyundai still can’t figure out how to fix the Bluelink issues. If it wasn’t for these issues, I would have given it 5 stars. I really want to love this car I just can’t yet. I noticed the gps issue before I drove it off the lot but the salesperson quickly dismissed it saying “the gps will update in a few days”. It took a new management at the dealership before someone would finally help me out with getting the gps issue resolved. After having the car for 10 days, the finally fixed the gps issue but blew me off when it came to fixing the Bluelink issue. It took me submitting a complaint to Hyundai corporate before the Bluelink issue would begin to be addressed. It’s now at the dealership again (and has been there for 9 days now) as they try to figure out how to fix this issue. I have the “pleasure” of driving. 2017 Sante Fe while my brand new car sets at the dealership. Hyundai corporate has only contacted the dealership. They haven’t offered me any reimbursements or anything related to these issues. It’s obvious someone at the plant failed to complete the quality control checks in relationship to this vehicle. Their neglect has now become my headache. At the very least, Hyundai should be reimbursing me for the payments I’ve made on this vehicle since I’ve yet to have full functionality or they should buy out this car from me and provide me with a new Kona. Beyond disappointed in Hyundai corporate and the way they are working to resolve this issue and keeping a happy customer.

Love this car

I absolutely love this car. My neighbors have stopped by to tell me how much they like my car. It handles well, is peppy and looks sharp. I didn’t like the tire repair kit but the dealership is ordering me a spare tire kit.

I enjoy my Kona

I enjoy driving my Kona. I have hand control in my Kona and it handles awesome with the hand controls. It is the right size for me. Not to big and not small. I also like the color of my car. The dealership was very easy to work with, also.

Bad engine piston rings with no fix available. ?

Vehicle has been recalled due to bad engine rings. Hyundai has no fix available in the foreseeable future. If they do, engine will have to be torn down for a rebuild when it fails costing me down time and loss of my only vehicle. Hyundai's were great when they were made in Korea, now in US, quality control has gotten poor.

Great Vehicle

Overall a great vehicle to purchase, great car for beginner drivers. I love the quality and unique design of the car. The transmission can be a little annoying in 1st,2nd gear when your going up a slight incline.

The Kona Night is not as impressive as the Limited/ultimate

I believe there was a lot of hype around this car but that hype must have been directed towards the Limited and Ultimate. I have test driven all 3 and the Night doesn’t drive as smoothly as the others. Also the interior is not as nice. I would have gotten the Limited had it not been for lack of cars on the lot due to the chip shortage.

Cute lil Kona

Great build. Cute car. We bought the base model, so the perks aren't great. Below average spaciousness in a sedan. Got this model for the AWD, since their other sedans were only 2WD. We came from an Audi A4, so our expectations were pretty high. Engine feels a lot different/weaker, but the gas mileage is better. Overall, we are pleased with our Kona, but not blown away. It's a good, reliable car.
