Nice vehicle. smooth ride, lots of options
The Tucson is a nice looking vehicle with clean lines and features. I do not think the color options for 2025 Tucson were the best but love the 2025 interior in gray - the dashboard is sleek, still has buttons to push which is a big plus (radio, fan..) as well as regular gear shifter which is most important. I do not like the newer paddles and buttons to go from drive to park to reverse - dangerous if you need to make a fast maneuver while operating vehicle. RIde is very smooth. Had no issues with MN winter driving. Interior is ROOMY, a lot more room than my previous Ford Escape.. big selling point! I do miss a spot for the sunglasses (empty space could be used in front of center console). Difficult and/or pain point to have separate apps - blue link and digital key and I have had terrible time with digital key and auto start from phone (auto start on fob is nice but too short a distance range). Too many passwords, one time codes.. I'm old. Locking and unlocking doors, somehow this is difficult as well. I can manage driver door fine but getting all doors to unlock sometime works, usually doesn't. User error I am sure but shouldn't be hard. Do not like that I cannot lock doors from vehicle door when I exit car. Radio - I use the Star/Favorite button to go to radio but it does not save on the screen with my preset controls so while driving I have to reach to screen and touch favorites. That seems like it could be improved. I like the use of colors on dashboard, why don't you have the gas gauge more significant and color coded Green/Yellow/Red? Dashboard view options are nice ie. current trip, current tank, vehicle report.... The fan vents are well placed and adjust nicely. Rear camera very clear - but I don't think it beeps if you are actually going to back into something! Tried it with the salesperson and didn't want to risk actually hitting something to find out and got frightfully close with no beep! For a vehicle that beeps at everything, this is a big surprise. It beeps at movement behind car but not something solid (like a parked car). Has all the safety features, too many, but they are there if you want them. Glad they can be turned on and off. The auto Brights light setting is terrific, use it all the time when driving at night with no issues. The seats are a bit hard, they could definitely use some more padding - a long trip might get pretty uncomfortable. No installed garage door opener in upgraded Tucson? Big miss. The gas mileage is good (25mph+), would be a plus if you did not need a gas cap (the Ford Escape does not and it is a nice convenience). My vehicle was a bit high priced (I would say 3K more than I think it should have been) but I did want to try something new. I would consider another Hyundai Tucson in 3 years but would want a few upgrades made (garage door opener standard, more comfortable seat cushions for sure). Overall, I am happy with my vehicle and enjoy driving it.
