Excellent car for the money.

I really love driving this car, it’s very comfortable and fairly easy to navigate the infotainment system. I. Enjoy the drive assist and massage seat only wish the passenger seat had massage as well. I’ve had very few problems and those are small and mainly with the updates to the system. I would recommend this car to friends and family.

Excellent auto line but desperately need stand-alone dealerships.

This is my second Genesis product, following previous purchase of G90. Unless Genesis gets separate dealerships, I doubt I will be back for a third. This pertains to customer service. I recently had a "check engine" light warning. I had the car towed to dealer and then was told it would be as long as a week before they could determine problem. They would not grant me a loaner car until they could be certain it was a warrantied issue. When I complained, I was curtly told to take it up with corporate customer relations! Genesis automobiles should not have to compete for service with lower cost brands and Genesis customers should never expect less than cordial, respectful customer relations from dealerships employees.

Ft Myers Genesis is a poor excuse for a quality automobile dealership.

The GV80 is not a good choice and it's too expensive. Go with Lexus instead. The AC setup isn't adjustable enough. The electronic features are too difficult to use. The radio sound is poor. The passenger seat doesn't recline far enough. The steering wheel gets dirty very quickly. Acceleration is good.

Genesis

I had to replace the hologram shown on the drivers side windshield. I have a scrapping sound on the driver side wheel well that causes a scratching sound in the steering column. The car has been in the dealer service department twice but I still have the issue.

Not Quite There

I purchased my GV 80 due to its comfort and styling. Overall I am satisfied, but would prefer to be in love with my car. My main gripes are as follows: 1. The exterior paint chips to easily. 2. The chip used to power the Navigation is too slow. When you switch from reverse to forward, it takes too long for your screen to adapt. 3. When I experienced a breakdown while on a road trip (21,000 miles on the car) my experience with Customer Care was absolutely horrible, making a stressful situation that much more stressful. 4. You have to open the front doors first before unlocking the rear doors.

Love the handling. But not comfortable.

I purchased the GV80 and absolutely loved the performance and the drivability. But after six months, my wife and I figured out we could not take it on long trips because the front seats were just too uncomfortable. So after six months we sold it for a vehicle that had comfort and performance.

Poor quality for the money

Car is very expensive for the amount of problems it has.poor quality it seems like these vehicles have a problem with noise coming from the rear of the car and it's a problem with many of the gv 70's and gv'80's and genesis isn't willing to have a recall and

A Wonderful vehicle

After two years, I am still enjoying my GV80 car. It is as new as the day I got it, showing little to no wear and tear. It drives and handles well. It is still quite comfortable to be in for extended periods, which was a problem because the seats in German luxury vehicles were too small and aggravated my sciatica within 30 minutes of being in the car.

2023 GV80 Prestige

Have no major complaints the performance of my 2023 GV80 Prestige SUV. The only issue I have had in over 2 years of ownership is that I had to have the battery replaced - fortunately was covered under warranty. Service levels are not consistent and need improvement.

Unreliable repairs to the car

We had two major issues with the car. the battery would die and the dealership reported that I left something on when in fact nothing was on. The third time this issued occur (in the span of 3 months) the entire electrical system failed and the car could not be jump started and had to be towed to the nearest dealer. The car was in the shop for three weeks and they claimed there was a "dark wire" draining the battery. After 3 weeks, they claimed it was repaired when they changed a master fuse. No way a fuse was the problem, a fuse does not draw power, it conducts it. No one in the service department could definitely tell me they fixed the problem and that "I should start the car up daily to insure proper battery life". How does that happen when I'm in an airport garage for days at a time while traveling for business. I never know if the car will start. The second issue was a loss of air conditioning. When I took it in to have the system looked at, the service tech said that they don't need to look at the AC as they know what the problem is. My model car had a defective coil installed and they reported that they are routinely replacing the coil. If this was a common problem, why did i have to endure no AC in Florida when it should have been repaired during my maintenance stop? That repair had me without my car for two weeks because there were so many failures, that was the lead time to get the parts. I should not have to endure this with a $80K+ car that was less than 3 years old.

Worst car I’ve ever owned.

Started with horn issues that took 3 times to correct. Then fuel injectors all had to be replaced, and finally, the turbo failed. Each time, I was given a loaner car, but the parts had to be ordered, and most often took more than a week to get in and install. Traded car in after 20 mos and 26 K miles

Hate my delersip. Love my vehicle.

I had ongoing issues with my Heads Up Display that required 3 visits to the dealership and 6 weeks without my vehicle. On one of the visits my vehiicle was returned with a heating and air conditioning issue caused by the repair to the HUD. Love the vehicle. Not happy witjh the service department.

Electronics are very unrelaible

Often the windows and door locks don't work and the horn is broken. The service managers are overworked and understaffed. You can NEVER EVER actually get someone on the telephone NO MATTER WHAT! I would not buy another Genesis unless they made a V8. The V6 is sluggish.

A good value

I like the styling of my GV80. Great features at a great value. I’ve had a few issues but my main problem is the dealership service. The wait time to get service is as long as one month. I’ve had recurring problems they can’t fix , very frustrating.

Loved the GV80…BUT

I loved the 2023 GV80 Prestige, in all categories. However, my 3 year concierge was about to expire and the potential higher prices due to tariffs, I traded it on a 2025 Mercendes 450, since there are know Genesis dealerships within 97 miles of Myrtle Beach SC.

Two great years with my GV80

Just hit two years and 21k miles on my GV80. Still loving the drive! Will consider trading it on a new GV80 a year from now unless there is a significant price increase due to tariffs. Would like to see the same option availability on the 4 cyl model as the 6 cyl (wheels, upgrade interior, etc.)

Great car, terrible dealer experience, poor MPG

A really beautiful car. Exceptionally well made. So comfortable in all ways. The dealer experience was the worst I have ever had in all my decades of buying a car. Handling is mushy. MPG is poor. Outstanding acceleration and power delivery. Beautiful interior.

Beautiful car. Horrible seats.

Very nice car. Seats EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE. Almost traded it in because of seats. A drive an hour each way to work and I’m in discomfort every day. How do you make such a beautiful car and miss on the seats. Also the entertainment system is so so. Does weird stuff every so often and now my phone can be used through the car speakers. It just stopped working. Dealer says there is some issue with the iPhone and hopes they fix it soon. It’s been over 3 months and I have to hold my phone in my hand to make and receive calls. Unacceptable.

Great vehicle if not for reliability issue

Great styling, great comfort, would be good value except for reliability. Vehicle will periodically not accelerate beyond 10 mph even with accelerator pressed to the floor. Dealership service technicians cannot find a problem. I will not drive this vehicle it is dangerous. I would like to obtain a salvage title on the vehicle and junk it because it is not safe for anyone to drive. Bought it new out the door for over $91,000, one of the biggest mistakes I ever made. The car is a model year 2023 and I have 30,000 miles on it. I'm currently driving my 2008 Honda I bought new for one of my kids in college years ago, it has 314,000 plus miles and counting with very little issues over the years.
