Loud interior. Hard to hear phone conversation on Bluetooth.

Poor gas mileage-All wheel drive I was told after buying. Car fits me well, 5’2” wahine. Has held up well. Easy to drive. Was thinking of 2019 CRV for more trunk and interior space. Decided it might be too big for me? Subaru has been very reliable. Overall it’s been a good car.

Good vehicle, burns a lot of oil

I have enjoyed my Forester. It has a known problem with burning oil excessively. It burns 1 quart every 500 miles. I’ve been dealing with this issue for the last 50,000 miles. While this is a pain, I’d rather spend $6 for a quart of oil periodically that spend the money for a new car. Despite this issue, the car has run reliably for 156,000 miles. I plan to drive it for another 100,000 with the support of the Red Ridge guys!!

Great car, except for the oil issue...

I want to love my Forester, and I do, for the most part. But, the constant need to to "top off" the oil between changes is annoying and expensive. The car drives great, gets me through all kinds of ice and snow, and it feels safe.

Sure it's great... On my third engine

So I guess Subaru dad a recall and a class action lawsuit about the 2011 Forester which no one told me about. Despite the fact that while it was under warranty the first engine blew. They assured me at GO Subaru on Arapahoe Rd in Greenwood Village Colorado, that it was a fluke, a one in a million occurrence. They didn't notify me of the class action lawsuit and neither did Subaru. Last year my engine blew again. It wasn't under warranty. I took it to a local Subaru mechanic who was all too familiar with the problem. He got me a new engine (not a 2011 boxter engineer) and did great work. It was 6k out the door. Subaru is an awful untrustworthy business that makes pretty good cars. But for all my and wife's next cars and for my four kids.. Pretty sure Subaru will never see another dime. Which is a shame. Two generations and six cars they will never sell. By the way never do business with the Subaru dealer on Arapahoe..I think they are Auto Nation now... Pikers, cheats and liars all of them

An example of Nate’s picky side

Lol it was purchased from Nate’s long enough ago its loan is paid off. It runs great as all there regular used cars seem to. I am suspicious that it may result from their willingness to repair replace what’s wrong before you see it. Again they stand behind what they do and sell.

Built-in Oil Leak

When buying a new car the customer must always assume that the unit was constructed without flaws. Unfortunately, some 2011 Foresters were manufactured with inadequate timing cover oil seals. This defect did not show up until about 50,000 miles. The owner has decided to let it leak. In discussing this problem with my previous mechanic I inquired if such an oil leak might contribute to an engine fire. We both agreed that if a fire were to break out I should stop the car, unfasten the seat belts and exit the vehicle. Unfortunately, this manufacturing defect is one which Subaru prefers not to address. The service writer exhibited a wry smile when I pointed out that the inspection report included the timing cover oil leak. Will I buy another Subaru?

237,000 miles and still running

We have driven this car across the country 4 times and it has performed in a excellent manner. Never had one problem! Has sufficient power to climb the Rockies and handle several snow storms while driving in the Plains. Handled very well on the twisting curves of the Pacific Coast Highway. Always feel safe while driving.

2019 Forester

I was given the new Forester as a loaner while myCar was having recall work done. I liked that the car is a little bigger than our Forester. It drove quite a bit the same as or 2010,however, I didn’t like the roadway sensors-they seemed to be beeping quite a lot, and distracting....The heated seats are not a feature I would add to a new car...also, really don’t like the “moon” roof...

My car

Love my Subaru Forestet, but it burns oil really bad. Received an oil change and 3000 miles later no oil left which is not good. This is the only complaint I have on the vehicle. It would be nice to get better gas mileage and I would get another one if the oil problem gets fixed.

New engine leaking oil

Our first engine burned oil and Subaru replaced it at 50,000 miles. The new engine started leaking oil at 75,000 or so. The rear main seal is leaking and that is a major problem that will be expensive to fix. First and last Subaru for me!

I love my 2011 Subaru Forrester

After hearing so many positive things about Subaru, I chose to buy a used Forrester. I love this vehicle! I’ve driven it for over four years through snow, ice, rain, mud, smoke and sunshine. The sight lines are great. The handling is solid. The headroom and leg room is the best I’ve experienced in any car since the days of the “tanks” from the 70’s and earlier. Gas mileage is decent and the ride comfortable whether short hops or major road trips. Having Subaru service take care of my car has given me peace of mind .... although nothing major has gone wrong. I fully expect to keep this Forrester for years and put 250,000 miles on it.

Love love love my Forrester. I was sad that the newer models seems top heavy. The years 2011 - 2013 are the very best. Subaru had it right. Once you go Forrester you don't go back. ?

2011 Forester

Have a 2011 Forester. Nice vehicle. Smooth ride. Comfortable. Haven't had any problems with it. A few less bells and whistles than some other cars in the same space, but we had a Subaru before and went with it again. Wish it got better gas mileage, though. Averages low 20's.

My Forester

Bought used, and it has been everything that we need. We use it on far eastern Long Island, where all wheel drive is often necessary. Handling is solid, and great gas mileage. Thoroughly enjoy driving

Terrific Vehicle

My Subaru Forester has 189,000 miles and still runs very well. It has take us cross country 4 times in the last seven years. It handles any conditions and you feel very safe even in a snow storm in the Rockies. Great car-looking for many more good miles.
